Need your help

sub 4 inch fixed and folders (2-3 total at a time, at least one fixed blade).

general utility and self defense if it were to be need.

started edc in highschool @15 yrs old.

1. 2" - 4"
2. cutting tape, breaking down boxes for recycling, cutting loose threads, removing tags from new clothes, opening mail and packaging
3. started carrying a knife around 18 years old

>3"-4" (currently a Gunting)

Everyday chores including but not limited to opening letters, opening packages, cutting string, cutting film (I work in a print shop) and many more. There is also the potential to use it for self defense but thankfully this has never occured.

My grandfather gave me my first knife when I was 11 (a Barlow).

Hi Sal!

I never carry over 3 inches, unless I'm camping or fishing in the deep woods, in which case I'll have a 4-5 inch fixed blade. I've had a knife on me since I was about 13. I'm 39 now.

3" to 4" usually

Letter opening, food preparation, fruit cutting, package opening, cutting thread and lables off clothes, and once loaned folder to female friend who did surgery on some ill fitting panty hose. Carrying a folder is a usefull tool for cutting, scraping, anthing that persents itself as a problem. Just don't use the to pry anything open.

I guess around 10 years old by my best recollection. Dad and mom never made much over my liking knives and I always had either a folder or K-bar around when needed. The only time I can remember getting hurt with a knife was when a slipjoint closed unexpectedly on my finger when I was about 12 years old.

1) anywhere from 1.5" to around 3"

2) peeling/slicing fruit, opening packages/mail, cutting paper, tape, loose threads, occasional pruning in the backyard, poking at stuff I'd rather not touch with my hands -- ant mounds, spider webs in my way, anything that looks sticky that I can't identify, sharpening a pencil if necessary

3) remember my first penknife around 10 or 12, I guess. Started carrying some kind of knife regularly around college.

1) Three to four inches. I spend quite a bit of time in the woods and carry knives with blades up to two feet long at those times, but I do most of my camping chores with knives with six to eight inch blades.

2)Everything from cutting string and preparing food through chopping wood.

3)From the age of seven when I started participating in cub scouts.

Sal hope all of this can help.

1. 3 to 4" occasionally, but rarely, larger
2. Utility, opening packaging, letters, & food service coffee packs, fruit and some food prep.
3. 6 or 7

I find that a 3 inch blade does just about everything that I need it to. So I carry a slip-joint with a blade about that long. I use my knife at work for cutting paper, cardboard, plastic, peeling apples and whatever job comes up. More of the same when not at work and I hunt and fish and use my knife to cut all sorts of things during these activities. I think I was ten or twelve when I was allowed to carry a pocket knife.

1. I carry a Benchmade AFCK. Blade is something like 3.975 inches.

2. In the past week, I've used my knife to cut rope while camping, open letters, section apples, poke a hole in a water jug to let air in, open school supplies, sharpen a pencil for kid's homework, and other various utility tasks.

3. I started carrying a knife about 12 years ago at the age of 18. ( A fully serrated Delica, to be precise.) Since then I've carried a one-handed opener every day that I've been able to, at work and at school, and have never used it for anything but utilitarian purposes.

Hope everything goes your way in the case. Let us know if we can be of any assistance.

1. I carry a pretty even range of 3" to 4". My rotation curently has five 3", three 3.25", five 3.5", and four 4" knives. (Yes, I just laid them out and counted.) I carry all of those fairly regularly, I most often carry a 3.5" or 4", if I had to give one "most most often" answer it would be 3.5" these days.

2. I carry a knife to cut things - boxes, string, fiberglas strapping, packaging - and as a light tool for scraping and other daily tasks. I carry a knife because I grew up a farm boy, and I put a knife in my pocket when I put my pants on. I leave it in my pocket when I take my keys and wallet out at home, because I use it around the house as much as I do outside, maybe more. I even use it, often, in the kitchen for things that do not require a food grade utensil - opening containers, prying things, making holes.

3. I got my first Barlow knife for Christmas from my father at, I think, age six. That was around 1973.

Glad to be able to help.

1. I sometimes use 3.5 until 5 inches bladed knives, but my EDC is the knife I use 95% of the time and it is a 3" small Sebenza.

2. I carry this knife at work and during my spare time. So I use it in the fields or for cutting food, opening mail and parcel post, cutting wires... and for many many other thinks ! :p

3. My first knife was a Victorinox SAK (if my memory is right ! :D ) and I was 6 or 7 when I received it.

1. I normally carry a blade that is around 3 to 4 inches.

2. Most of the time i use it for opening letters or plastic bags, cutting some loose thread that sometimes poke out of your shirts/pants, and sometimes use it to cut fruit.

3. I began carrying a knife at 20.

Cheers :D

1. My EDC has a 3" blade length (Delica).
2. I use it for food preparation, cutting paper, plastic wrap, boxes, rope and wood.
3. I carry a knife since I was 9 or 10 years old.
Hope it helps.

I carry two to three knives daily with blades from 2" to 4" in length.

I use them for utility reasons, i.e. Opening boxes, cutting lines and/or straps, slicing the occasionaly tomato or peeling fruit, opening mail, and cutting cardboard. I find I use a knife daily.

I have carried a knife on my person since I was around 10.

Good luck with your case.

1
3.5" to 4" folders (often autos).

2
All the above mentioned utility purposes (daily chore: opening box with frozen pizza). Hiking, camping. Use as an all round tool at the cottage.
(EDIT:) never even thought about self defense. No use for it (and I don't like blood, lol)

Got my first folder at 5. Carried ever since. A teacher at elementary school used to borrow it to sharpen pencils, open boxes etc. AMAZING how much things can change in twenty years...

(for the record, I'm 27 now).

My EDC knife has a 4 inch blade. I use it for general purpose cutting. I always carry it whether at home, work, church, resturant or wherever. I started carrying knives at about 10 years of age. I am 41 now.
