New Buck Mesa, wow!

They are a Wal mart exclusive at least for now.

Why oh why must Buck torment me so? I live in the Netherlands, so not a chance of a Walmart being nearby.

This seems to me to be a great thing for the customers of Walmart. The part of Buck's clientele that doesnt have access to a Walmart, not so much.

The big action sight should eventually see a few for sale as time goes by I would think. i have these Wally World dime stores all around me and I cover a 300 mile territory for the company I work for and have yet to see one of these knives.

Procured one today along with some extra .223. They had two. Almost picked up a Reaper (seemed like a good price) but I was a bit over budget with the aforementioned. Saw the 715 but seemed a little pricey and mid locks are not my favorite.

I want one of these so bad! I checked out one in the Wally world and it looks just as good in person (unfortunately the 715 there did not look as good as the pics online). I just have no use for one, I can't see carrying it in the "city" now. I guess I could use it in the kitchen....right guys?

If you want it then get it! Who cares if you don't NEED it for s specific use now, maybe one day you will.

Haha.... I think we all know that is a slippery slope! I don't consider myself a collector, and only try and get things I think I will use, my budget just doesn't allow for much else. The Mesa is very tempting though!

bodydamage. Sorry for the delay I have been out. I have tried Lynnwood and north on I5. I like the Buck Mesa and hope to get one for my lady’s Jeep. Good luck.

Found one yesterday, it was on display and it was the only one they had left. Being a display, I figured they wouldn't sell it to me but they did. I was surprised that it came in a box, I've only seen pics of them in a clam packaging. Anyway, I like it so far and really like the sheath more than I thought I would. BTW, it fits in a Becker tweener sheath like it was made for it.

I emailed Buck and confirmed that it is a WM exclusive.
Stock levels should increase over time as per the rep.

Finally dry enough to beat on it. Processed a crap load of wood, including batoning, feathersticks etc. and it did great. Im very impressed by the 420HC as I fully expected to have to touch it up after all that but it still sliced phone book paper. The slight recurve with the hollow grind really bit into the wood and made wood shavings like butter. It batoned very well and the Micarta handles are very comfortable and remained so throughout, in fact I think I have found my new favorite handle material.

I had the same experience.

Found one at a store a good distance south of my local store. I had it in the cart and got a couple isles away before turning around and putting it back.

The price was nice but it didn't flip my "gotta have it" switch.

Are you guys finding these in the knife case or are they hanging on the shelf? I've yet to see one.

In my local Walmart, the two Mesas were hanging from the pegboard, not in the locked case. One came home with me.

Anyone know if you van order it through the Walmart web site and have it delivered to the store. I did this with my Gerber Strongarm and didn't have to pay shipping.

What I don't know is if you can refuse the knife if you don't like it.

The Buck Mesa isn't listed on the Walmart.com website. So for now it seems it is available in store only.

havent found one yet in my local walmart stores, but the stores around here are terrible and only stock what the regulars buy and it aint knives sadly. might have to travel down to that ocoee one i heard might have them.

one thing that i dislike about box stores. they only carry what sells. i get it and its smart business i guess, but it keeps my money away as they dont stock things i want and need. i miss the old days of every store had the same stock and lots of it, so you didn't have to hunt all over town to find what you need. its no wonder the internet is stomping b&ms out of existence little by little.

Great points!
I've griped about these issues for years.
