New Forum software thread. . .

Sorry to be blunt, but this layout is terrible. Not because it "looks bad", but because navigation is awful. What were the issues with the old style? I hope there was a good reason for this update because I just don't understand change for the sake of change.
 
Security and vBulletin decided to "end of life" the previous version, meaning they weren't going to support it anymore. FUN.

I just woke up, so I'm going to grab a shower, get myself around some coffee and food, and I'll start tackling problems. I've already disabled the mobile skins so hopefully forum access will work again for those of you with mobile devices.
 
Just checked on my phone again, and it seems okay now. Thanks Spark, I surf the forums most on my phone so that would have been devastating!

This looks just like friggin facebook to me........:thumbdn:
I don't use facebook because i hate the layout and almost everything about it.
To me the old layout was a bunch more user friendly.:thumbup:
This one is giving me headaches.
 
Spark- I just wanted to let you know that I, too, prefer the old style. BUT I am glad you take such ownership in your website. I am just unused to change, but I will adapt.:D
 
Folks, colors and crap like that will be changed. AFTER SEARCH and vital features are back online
 
Yes Please ,Can we have the old b.f back, the pics are smaller in the threads the whole deal looks like a remake of knife dogs forum, Spark i know you work you butt off ,but bro this time older is better!

This is the default skin for the vB4 software, which is why knifedogs and BFC look the same. If you can voice SPECIFIC concerns and problems, I will address them ASAP. The more specific the better. General problems like "It looks like facebook" do not help me resolve issues.

I will try to make things easier to read and address every valid concern I can. SOME THINGS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE CHANGED. Some things will be. Be specific and we'll work on it together
 
okay, when i selected "large print" the size of the text when reading a thread was not changed. the only thing that was, was the size of text here

also could it be possible to format the above link the same as before? listing every forum instead of only their categories?

The same complaints were voiced about the previous version of Bladeforums when it replaced version 3.1 (?).

I personally think we are going to see (and use) a lot of brand new and useful features - when we get accustomed to the new style and the small bugs and annoyances are fixed.

Thumbs up to Spark for continuously maintaining and improving this site.
 
Where is the list of subscribed threads?

Found it, under settings on the top right hand corner. :confused:


Large print isn't working for me though, it only makes titles bigger, words in threads stays the same size.

LARGE PRINT STYLE IS NOT OPERATIONAL YET. It is second on my list after getting searching working right

Quick nav still doesn't work on my iPad or iPhone. Just letting you know.
 
My first impressions were that I did not like it. It is starting to grow on my now, but I am sure the bugs will be fixed and It will be much better than the old version.

On thing I think that could be fixed is the navigation. It is not fun looking for specific subforums in the main forum page. Also, when in a subforum, it is hard to see the important information like the name of the thread. I am sure this can be fixed with the color schemes and text changes.
 
Accidentally found the font size control for posts. Large Print should be working. If it's still not large enough let me know.
 
Hey I kinda like the new look. Sure there will be bugs to work out but that's expected. I know on the forum I used to run that was vBulletin it was a pain in the ass to go through this every time they decided to not support anymore. I feel for Spark having to deal with this. I had people bitching left and right about missing the old design. There are different views that can be added to the drop down. Maybe after the dust settles they can add different page styles so everyone is happy. I thought the old site looked like something from the 70's so I am glad to see the face lift.
