New Forum software thread. . .

Getting used to the new format. Colors are a bit girly, but I was too manly to begin with so hopefully this will bring me back to normal a bit. A few request:

>Bottom of the page breadcrumbs are very nice.
>The major forum groups (General, Community, Marketplace, etc.) at the top of the page were the best form of instant navigation for me.
>On the "recent posts" page that many of us use as our starting point is missing the "parent thread link" that is usually a column next to "last post".

I thought we weren't supposed to see adds? Not throwing rocks, it's a genuine question? I can see some now I don't remember seeing before.

Yep, 6:52 PM, seeing adds that say in small print near the bottom "Paid subscribers don't see these adds".

I still like the old site better but I'm sure it'll get easier to navigate the more we use it.

Which ads are you seeing, the sidebar ones that are 160x600 or others? Where are you seeing them specifically?

No major issues that won't eventually work out or that I won't be able to get used to - just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work, Spark!

I'm seeing the large vertical ad to the right (sidebar) of the forum home page.

ETA: A temporary fix for those bothered by the ad - closing the sidebar (click one of the arrows) works for hiding it (it stays closed when I return to the homepage).

Kevin,

Forum home page. There is a large banner along the right hand side of the page.

Also, just noticed that threads which shouldn't be showing up under "recent threads", are. (i.e. W&C and, um, elsewhere;))

How about bottom of the page breadcrumbs Spark, they're a real time saver.

Yep.

Also, on the main page, the subforums are stacked on each other. It's hard to take in and see where you want to go...

The lotsa white comment I agree with too...my eyes are burning!

Hey spark is there a way to mark subscribed threads as viewed? I still cant work it out...all my subscribed threads back to when i joined are highlighted as unread.

Thanks.

From a web designer's perspective, I think the new design is great and much needed. It's important to keep with today's web standards and focus on UCD, which I believe Blade Forums has accomplished. Keep up the good work guys!

I logged in today and had an itrader notification, but when I click on the "can be viewed on this page" link it states Internet Explorer Can Not Display Page.
The feedback also isn't listed on my feedback page when I view all feedback.
No rush on fixing the feedback score, just wanted to let you know.
Also I'm seeing an ad when I click on the forum button.
It's long and on the right hand side of the screen.
Clicking the arrow made it go away though.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your time,
Mike

I also forgot to ask about the Rate Seller at the bottom of an OP in the exchange.
Is this the new format for leaving feedback.
Looks pretty convenient.
Is it going to stay that way or will we still be required to click on their name (the old way)?

Mike

Just wanted to see if pics were posted the same way too.

I guess the biggest concern for me is that the list of new posts is just not that easy to see. Its a combination of the size, color and font. It would be groovy sometime down the road some new skins or other viewing options might be available to help my eyeballs. Take a look at edcforums for example and note how its just easier to see.

Whatever happens, we are going to get used to it and its going to seem "normal" pretty soon.

if you have a scroll wheel on your mouse hold ctrl + scroll up and it will make the text size larger and more readable. I did this last night, loving it.

dont like being debbie downer , but this new layout sucks monkey balls. my subscription ran out last week , i will wait to renew up if site grows on me lol. sometimes progress is a step backwards , just saying

Those of you who are saying it sucks, PLEASE BE SPECIFIC. If you can identify something in particular, I can work to change it. If you don't, and I have to guess, it's not going to get fixed. There's something like 5000 variables I can alter.
