New GEC #13 Congress series (Clerk, Speaker Jack and Whip)

I don't know near enough about these knives to answer ether of your questions Will. However the good news is someone will very soon. Even if it's the GEC website when they post pictures of the knives from every angle :D

Wasn't there a splitback whittler on the #62 frame? It's basically a more rounded banana shaped type of a congress frame imo. :D It's got a concave back as well.

I zoomed in on a picture of the smooth bone SFOs whittler, and it looks like the spacer tapers down towards the main blade. The picture I'm talking about is the shot looking into the blade well with all three blades open.

Could be a case of seeing what I want to see, but one of the SFO whittler pictures does look to me to taper toward the pivot of the main.

I was happy to see the picture of the Ivory Micarta handles for the Tidioute version of the whittler.

Anyone know if the Northfield versions with sheepsfoot mains will have a long pull?

I missed the whole "whittler" thing as well! If anybody catches one they wanna release back out into the wild, let me know. It's looks like it would make an awesome knife to actually carve with!!

The whittlers are coming along nicely, the two SFOs in particular! The jigged bone with the crown shield is quite the looker, and I love pretty much anything in smooth bone.
I like the red jigged bone they are going to use for the tiduoette whittlers.
I look forward to the next few days. Now that they got all those pesky 71s out of the way they should really be able to start rolling on the 13s!:D

They are all looking good Erik. Thanks for reminding me to look at the site again. I can't say I have ever seen that "bent" shield but it works with the shape of the frame. I'm getting excited for these to start showing up. I think I posted before I have two reserved. One Speaker in ebony and a Whip in stag. I hope I get them both. I know a lot of you are excited about the whittlers. Personally I am a fan of single blade knives as well, so I am looking forward to the Whip.

I can't keep track of GEC's numbering "system", but they did make a Courthouse Whittler, Congress frame with round ends, Wharncliffe main, pen and coping secondaries, wedge back. If I could trick Photobucket into working for me, I'd post a picture of mine.

Now that's a beautiful whittler! I've tried for 18 month's to find a courthouse whittler I could buy to no avail. However I did manage to snag one of the #13s this year. I'd rather have the wharncliffe blade but I'm just happy I got one at all. :D

AL. Is there one you don't have? [emoji1]

Oh yeah ;) Dozens upon dozens upon hundreds I've seen only in pictures.

I think we'll see the 62s again in the next year or two, t.willy. It's been about 6 years since they came out. In the meantime, these 13s are gonna be the talk of the town. Really excited about this run and hope everyone that wants one eventually gets one.

Yablanowitz and Al, yes, that's the one - the Courthouse Whittler. I wasn't all that sure since the Maverick is on the same frame and I didn't want to use the wrong name. :D Good looking knife, Al!

pictures are good too!:o

I agree on the 13's. I think they will be a hit.

Hmmm.. I hope they are using that on the clerk too. The sign on the GEC in production pictures had me thinking the tidioutte whittler was red jigged bone and the clerk linen micarta.

There's a tidioutte whittler in the micarta and red jigged bone. I believe there are two tidioutte versions of each knife, and I'm pretty sure atleast the whittler and clerk are both getting the same micarta, antique ivory(or now muslin) micarta.
