New GEC #13 Congress series (Clerk, Speaker Jack and Whip)

My stag Clerk is sitting in my lockbox at home and I am out of town until Wednesday:grumpy: How did I let this happen?
 
I'm ready to get my stag clerk in hand to see if I like it enough to pick up one in ebony. Those came out so much nicer than I was expecting. Ebony just seems to fit this pattern as a gentlemanly carry.
The cloud shield has always been a turn off for me, but something happens when it's centered on a symmetrical frame. It just works. It looked great on the smooth bone 98s, and it looks good on the clerk.

The office knives also turned out better than I was expecting. I really like the tidioutte trim on these, as well.
 
Wow those stag clerks look great. My ebony clerk and stag speaker jack will be here tomorrow. Wish I could buy more but I'm tapped out so I can save for the next run. :)

Here is the clerk in stag. That precision tip worked excellent for cutting the leather for the slip.
Dad's initials on the slip since I'm giving it to him. Most certainly not going to be an "office knife".

Just browsing (removed non paying dealer reference) Knives last night and saw the #13 Whip in muslin micarta...needless to say I had to have it. I thought it was odd any were left in stock, but then reading this thread, it seems they've only very recently been released! Very lucky on my part as so many GEC patterns don't make it over the pond to the dealer.

Just put in my order for a stag clerk. It will be my collector piece, my muslin clerk is going to be a user.

Charlie - Thank you sir for the compliment! In the past I have never really been a big Congress fan. However I am growing more and more fond of such classic patterns especially the nice slim patterns with single springs and double blades. :)
 
Some of what I ended up with...

I was looking forward to the Whittler, but the main blade is a bit short for everyday use so that was a bit disappointing. The Speaker Jacks are my favorite out of the group. I was lucky enough to get a great looking stag and an ebony that is mostly walnut in color with an accent streak of ebony.. I know some people are not a fan of the wood covers with what they consider defects in color, but some of my favorite knives have accent streaks or are slightly off color so this ebony really called to me.
