New GEC #13 Congress series (Clerk, Speaker Jack and Whip)

My final count is 1 muslin micarta whittler, 1 micarta speaker jack, 3 jigged speaker jacks, 1 ebony speaker jack, 1 micarta clerk, 1 ebony clerk, and an ebony whip on the way. I'm sure I'll weed a few out once I narrow down exactly which ones I am drawn to. Overall I went a little overboard!

Hell I feel ya. I went overboard too. Sad thing is these pics don't include the 2 micarta whittlers I bought. Sold one for cost and gave another away.

I ended up with just the Muslin Micarta Whittler. I almost sold it, but decided to make it my own instead.

I keep eyeing the clerk, too, but my self control is holding so far. ;)

F&F was the best on the 2 micarta that I had in my possession. 50% of my whittlers had the proud wedge liner. Enjoy

I have 7 [emoji31] partly due to the frenzy, mainly due to a lack of self control. [emoji57]
1 muslin whittler 2 ebony speakers, 1 stag clerk, 1 office clerk, 2 stag Whips. Not all on board yet, but coming. It's a long story, but this too shall pass.

Help🤢🤢🤢

Sure glad to be able show SWMBO that some people are getting more 13's than I am . I only have 1 Congress Whittler and now 2 Stag Whips on the way .

Here's my total 13 collection; from the Bladeforums 13 to the Micarta Whip they are all good. The Whip will be in the pocket frequently.

Hah! I sure didn't plan on this? It's this crazy frenzy that happens. I find one and think well maybe I won't get on the reserve, so I buy it, then get my reserve anyway?

Anyway they are great knives, nice pattern with lots of configurations and not really that expensive. Maybe i could lend some to you Harry? Sounds like you need more? :o

Thanks for the offer to lend me some , but I am set for now . I originally reserved 1 Whip then the story just goes on from there . I expect that one of the Whips will become a gift at sometime during the year . We have my kids , and their kids , and their kids that will require some knives . Of course , I get my choice as to which Whip to keep .

Harry

Very happy to receive this one today.

You know Kid , in the over-all scheme of things , I think that you may very well have gotten the best of the patterns offered . Partly because I think the Stags that I have seen to choose from were not super and your Office Knife will be the RARE one in the bunch . I know that I wished last night that I had ordered one . Very nice picture too . You made it look really nice . Well done my friend .

Of course I totally agree my friend. I give my son and son-in-law knives they seem to like. My daughter won't let me give my grandkids knives...yet, but at some point she will. If were to give one away though I reserve the right to choose:o

I am so happy to have got this in the mail today. An absolutely exquisite knife. I am very blessed to have two #13s. The stag on this knife is amazing! I intentionally picked on with thicker scales. It feels great in the hand, and is a welcome change from the usual flat nature of knives with bone covers. This is the first wharncliffe and the second stag knife in the collection. The spring is so crisp which is a serious plus. I love it and I am very thankful to own traditional knives like these. Isn't it nice that we seem to live in a "Traditional Knife Renaissance"?
I sincerely hope everyone loves theirs as much as I love mine. This is such an elegant knife (the sleek and subtle lines of the wharncliffe and pen make it so) and I can't wait to carry it. I believe I heard this from someone on the forum, but I can't remember exactly from where, "You can't take it when you die so why not use it?".

I managed to resist buying one of these, since I have a 2013 Forum Knife already. I'm enjoying seeing everyone's pictures, though. The Office Knife engraving looks spectacular!

Just curious, which blade configurations do you like best?

These are all looking great guys!

I can finally make a valid contribution to this thread. My one and only 13 was waiting for me when I got home. As I've said, this is also my first knife in stag.

It's a sweet knife! The somewhat thick slabs make it feel a little beefier than I was expecting, but I'm sure I'll warm up to that. The stag is pretty well matched as well. It does look like I'll need to take a hair off the kick, but I'll just wait and see if the slightly proud tip bothers me first.
