New GEC #48 with Wharncliffe blade?

From the pics on the GEC site, it looks like the wharnie blade is not going to sit too 'proud.' I was afraid it might, and that would be a deal-breaker for me. Partly just because of the extra bulk, but also because I think a tall profile blade would ruin the aesthetics of the #48 when closed. But it looks like its going to be spot-on in terms of profile, and it also looks like I will not be able to resist buying one...

I've got a tarp that's something like 30' x 50'. Will that work? ;)

Yeah. Well, at least in the short term... :D

Yep, I'm liking the way these are looking.

The Improved 48 is looking fantastic. I'm really looking forward to seeing it in African Blackwood!

I'm definitely getting one of those. Pretty much a wish-list knife of mine for a long time. If they sold one in 440C I would buy two. :)

Thanks. That's about what I figured. Just want to make sure I have enough $$ in my PayPal acct to buy one :)

That long Wharncliffe is just the ticket! I hope they do some really old school jigged bone!

Finally some covers... shouldn't be too long now. Hopefully have them in hand by next week.

Those are exactly what I have been wanting in a pocket knife. I've got my name on the waiting list with one of our fine BF member dealers for one of the jigged bone versions.

I've got the 48 Trapper in 440C and this one will make a perfect companion for it. :)
