New Run of No. 15s (Beer Scout and Otherwise)

Well ran out of my chocolate colored leather so just made a quick 2 wrap but definitely needs at least 3 or 4 wraps . Although I do have some tan color which might give it some contrast . What do you guys and gals think ? Get some more chocolate so I can run a few more wraps or try the tan ?The Spydie has the tan for comparison

It arrived! Congrats, Factor
That leather slip looks like a good option. I currently have a P7-type suspension clip on mine but not sure that is the route I want to maintain. About to go to Europe for a few days and the Beer Scout will be my primary pocket knife on the road. How to carry my pocket knife is of primary importance in trip planning! :D

Eta: Cool lanyard. I dig the dark one.

^^ Thanks Jazub ,
I'm going to let the dark one roll for a while 👍

Just ordered a jigged bone this morning. I've been waiting a long time for this one. They look great.

Not many updates on the Beer Barrel Oak. Maybe they need to drink the beer first.

Got my order in for the jigged golden ale bone! My first Beer Scout! I did get a cap lifter from the recent run though.

This draft beer acrylic arrived the other day. Personally, I love the sparkly look of kirinite. Outstanding job on this one. Thanks GEC!!

What did everyone think of the lighter colored jigged bone that was used? The jigging pattern seems to be the same as what was used on previous #15's and also what was used on the recent run of jigged bone #14's

My buddy just bought a draft beer acrylic version that I'll get to see in a few days. If I absolutely don't love it then I'll get one of the other versions. The decision on which version to get will be tough. The maroon micarta looks great. Hopefully the oak will look good. The jigged bone definitely looks good, but it may not be an available anymore.

My Beer Scout hard at work opening it's first beer 😆

Here's a shot of it in the light and you can really see the beauty in this Maroon macarta .

I think the golden ale jig bone looks great!

The easy decision is to just get all 4 of them! I don't think they'll sell out as quick as you think. They made a ton of these. There's definitely enough time for everyone who wants them to get one.

Being honest, I'm not a huge fan. I prefer darker colored bone. It didn't prevent me from getting one though. I love the Beer Scout too much to turn one down.

my crown lifter was bit of a nail breaker. It's gotten a bit better but I had to open/close it a lot when I had the chance watching tv etc. Maybe after a few beers and other scraping/prying tasks it'll reach a nice 6? While the sheepsfoot is a little on the light side a 4 if a typical SAK is a 5.

GE Jr., on the two examples that I have, I find the pull to be stiffer on the cap lifter than on the pen blade on either of the Boy's Knives that I have. It's not a nail breaker, but it is noticeably more difficult.

I'd say mine is about a strong 6 but because you can pinch open its not a problem . My crown lifter is at least a 7 but have found just with a handful of beers lol or I mean use 😆 It's seems to have gotten a little easier. But man at this price point it's an amazing knife .
A big thumbs up to Gec for making this beautiful knife so affordable topped with bang for the buck 👍

A gift to my friend... hes not the biggest knife guy but he has been carrying this old Barlow for work for years. Nice upgrade I think!

Too much yellow and orange for me... I think Iced Tea Scout is a better description of the colors. Not everybody likes the same things, it will be perfect for one person and the next person might hate it. I'm glad GEC offered a variety of options with this run so people can find what they like best. I just wish the bottle opener was easier to open.

Beautiful knife! Frankly, if I didn't already have a BS in Ivory Bone from the 1st run last year, I think I would opt for one of these Crown Lifters instead of the current run of BS knives. It looks just RIGHT more than 'do for now' :D:D::thumbup:

Thanks, Will
