I love the new maroon micarta Beer Scout. It's everything that I wanted last year's Soda Scout to be. I actually like the Beer Scout shield and blade etch. And this is real linen micarta this time. I was sadly disappointed last year, when it turned out to be paper micarta. The maroon went right from the box and into my pocket. I'm gonna use the heck out of this thing.

I just got mine today. Maroon linen micarta. I really like these scales. great looking knife and i expect it will get a lot of use. I usually carry an electricians knife and the quirky beer scout will now often take its turn.

How does the cap lifter blade compare regarding ease/difficulty opening to the pen blade in other GEC 15's? The Boy's Knives that I have both exhibit a nice smooth balance of ease and snap on the pen blades (main blades, too!). Reason for asking: Pictures that I can find, look to me as though the cap lifter's blade stock - and hence backspring, are the same thickness as the main, leading me to think it'll be a bit stiffer. TIA for any info!

GE Jr., on the two examples that I have, I find the pull to be stiffer on the cap lifter than on the pen blade on either of the Boy's Knives that I have. It's not a nail breaker, but it is noticeably more difficult.

I could not agree with you more. I usually carry a victorinox pioneer but sense I received my beer scout it went straight to my pocket where it will stay.

Well she's finally here after pre-ordering in September but well worth the wait .
This Maroon Micarta really looks and feels nice. Super nice snap and pull , dead nuts centering and walk and talk is outstanding on this one . Really digging the Maroon Macarta as pictures don't do it justice.
Here's a couple of pics . The lighting wasn't really good but couldn't wait as its right out of tube oil and all lol . I'll post some better pictures once I wipe her down and add my trademark leather lanyard 😊

Well ran out of my chocolate colored leather so just made a quick 2 wrap but definitely needs at least 3 or 4 wraps . Although I do have some tan color which might give it some contrast . What do you guys and gals think ? Get some more chocolate so I can run a few more wraps or try the tan ?The Spydie has the tan for comparison

Just got mine! Perfect F&F and I like the covers with less 'black stuff' rather than more. Really I think a white or cream colored ribbon would have looked more like beer with a foamy head,
so I'm calling this 'Spider in my Draft' acrylic

That leather slip looks like a good option. I currently have a P7-type suspension clip on mine but not sure that is the route I want to maintain. About to go to Europe for a few days and the Beer Scout will be my primary pocket knife on the road. How to carry my pocket knife is of primary importance!
