Newt Livesay comes through

Excuse me for protruding, but I'm confusionated.....
If Elvis were alive and making knives, using the name Darrell to hide his true identity, isn't it possible that the knives come with sheaths?

And if Elvis/Darrell makes knives just like Newt does, can he sing like Newt also?

WOW:eek:

Bad batch or Kratom or something!!!!!!!!

We are just a country boy,
'leather have we none,
but if you'll take a kydex sheath,
we'll quickly get it done.

I don't think that Newt will sing,
unless you pay up front,
and we have shut our mouth so long,
our songs are just a grunt.

If you woul like another knife,
please send us all your money,
and when you see what you will get,
I hope ... you think it's funny!

Cliff, I've always been somewhat cautious, but I've also always been someone that takes a person at their word until they do something that shows that they aren't worthy of my trust. Maybe my string of having absolutely no bad deals has made me overly trusting, don't know.

There is nothing wrong with checking out someone's story. To me there is something wrong with thinking that because somebody knows a person that has shown a lack of ethics, that this person should be looked upon with suspicion.

Now, if someone came along that decided to make good on Allan Blade's debts, I would be happy for those that are getting repaid. Would I immediately think that it might be Allan? Not a chance, Allan would want the whole world to know that it was him that was getting things put right. I would not for one minute suspect that someone doing such a good thing was actually Allan. He's just not made that way.

Maybe someday my trusting ways are going to come back and bite me on the behind, but I'd rather that than spend my life being suspicious of everyone I deal with.

Hi,

I emailed the MS kNives site address last night. Sorry for the confusion. I received areply from Mrs. Parent about my ongoing issue over a HKR in D2 I ordered and never received ( nor a refund)from Mr. Livesay. This has been going on for aprroximately 2 years. Mrs. Parent stated she would look into it and get back to me in a couple of days. I do not have the original invoice but I do still have several emails between Mr. Livesay and myself in which I asked for the knife or a refund of the $285 I paid him for the knife. Any help you may be able to give to resolve this long standing and painful issue would be deeply appreciated. This was my first foray into the "custom" knife world and it pretty much cured me of ever going that route again. I would also like to thank you for what you have done for others in the same boat, It speaks volumes of your character.

Thanks,

Just a quick note here - Mt. Sequoyah Knives/ Joda and Darrell Parent had a Newt Livesay US Marshall knife for sale on their site last week. This knife was taken out of the Livesay lineup long ago, about the time I decided I wanted one. Then I missed the last one I saw for sale here and resigned myself to the fact I had missed the boat, until last week.

We did a couple emails, a phone call and I have the knife in hand. It's Livesay, built exactly right, no hassles, and went on the annual Christmas Tree Hunt with me today.

Joda and Darrell are trying to make a whole bunch of things right, things that they had not much to do with and quite frankly could let go if they were inclined to.

AR Freak, based on the conversations I have had with Joda in the past week and a half, the emails exchanged and the fact that I have a Newt Livesay knife in hand, things are changing for the radically better.

If there is a way to handle it right, these folks will do it.

That's great feedback, Parker. I've not yet contacted them via phone...I hope to possibly on Monday , but I have been in email contact with Joda. It would be fantatsic to finally put this behind me. The Parents are certainly going way above and beyond in helping those of us they can...I plan to support their business regardless of my own outcome due to their efforts.

call me - my phone isn't working to call out for some reason. I hate cingular :thumbdn: .

What's going on with your site - has Joda just gone crazy  .

+1 for the knives on their site. I noticed the 82nd AA and the Company knife...when this drama all started those were among the 'contenders' I was looking at when I went for the HKR. :(

Kacy,
I hadn’t noticed the web site lately; I guess she has lost control. Looks to me like she must have spent too much for Christmas and is trying to make some fast money. If someone wants a good deal on some original Livesay inventory now’s the time. I don’t think they will last very long at those prices. Seriously, it is some old inventory we have had laying to long that needs turned. Give me a call when you get a chance I almost have your knife finished. Your not going to believe how light it is.

Allow me to publicly thank and recommend very highly Mt. Sequoyah Knives (Joda and Darrell Parent) for clearing up an issue that had persisted for five years through Newt's difficult times. I must say that communications between Newt and I were intermittent and somewhat sporadic during that time, so I also bear some responsibility for the long timeframe involved. I always viewed Newt as a friend, as well as a fine maker of 1095 steel bladeware, and figured he'd sooner or later make his way to delivering my order. Patience may be a virtue, but there are times when you question its value over the longer term. ;)

So it was with some gladness that I happened upon Darrell's posting to contact him if there were outstanding issues with Newt's deliveries. I emailed him and "OUTSTANDING" is one of the adjectives I use to describe he and Joda's handling of my long-standing order. It was cleared up in about two weeks, from first contact to delivery of knife. The entire transaction transpired with exemplary efficiency, courtesy, and the highest professional integrity on the part of Mt Sequoyah Knives. It is especially noteworthy given that, as noted above, they did not have an obligation to take up these issues, but did so nonetheless.

Oh that all makers and vendors in the knife world were so focused on customer satisfaction.

Thank you again, Darrell & Joda. Your conscientious efforts are deeply appreciated.

Thanks Great feedback, Rokjok. I have also been in contact with the Parents and it has been first rate as well.

Joda and I would like to thank everyone for their support this past year. Without the customer no business large or small would have the opportunity to succeed. A lot of companies have lost sight of this. In 2006 Mt Sequoyah knives will continue to focus on customer satisfaction and developing new products to serve our customers. Both Joda and myself are looking forward to continuing the relationships we have established with our current customer and the new ones that will be created in the coming year.
Thank you.
Merry Christmas & happy New Years
Darrell & Joda Parent
Mt Sequoyah Knives.

I'd like to put in my two cents. I've bought a lot of knives from companies and off many forum members so many of you know me.
I recently purchased an Air Assault from MS Knives website. I would like to say they have gone above and beyond. Unfortunately the USPS lost the first package. Before I knew it Joda had another knife in the mail. I received it yesterday.
Why I say this was above and beyond.
After the original package didn't show up I sent an email. Joda checked with the PO and they report that the package had been delivered. It was delivered somewhere but not to me.
Being the week before Christmas I suggested give it some time. It might have been a mistake the PO listing it as delivered. Well as I said, before I knew it another package was on the way. Many companies wouldn't have done that. Especially considering the PO said the package was delivered.
I say thank you. Don't hesitate to do business with Mt Sequoyah Knives. :D
