Well that will satisfy five of them...................................................................................for about ten minutes.

It gives me some satisfaction too. Clearly they are getting better and better. ;)

Oh, and just for the record before I go get a bunch more steel grit stuck in what hair I have left...

I am NOT playing favorites here. I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL to all who are partaking in this, whether first time customers or 10+ year friends/customers. I'm just grinding them in the order that they came to me from Joe. :)

Also wanted to point out that #1-10 knives are at the top of the agenda right now, and the misfits that didn't quite fit into that group will be worked on as soon as those #1-10 are done. And if my calculations are correct, I have until the middle of September before anyone sicks the wolves on me. :foot: :)

Your doing great buddy

This truly is a great project and I do believe everyone is having fun

I know I am

The fun and excitement are definitely still building for me, too--thanks again, Nick and Joe!

I don't know what plans are in the works for final pics, but I'd love a chance to see all of the finished knives, together with the "misfits" that are finished after the numbered run as part of this design concept. It would also be very cool to see the whole numbered run of 10 together in one or two shots--plus at least one view of the reverse side on any that have wood. Just sayin'. :D

Great thread...But I would be having alot more fun if my name was on one of those Beauties....

Come on Will - you really want to wait or do you want it in your hands ASAP?
Next, you'll want a group shot of the sheaths with Paul as "Mr. September"

Where will the debaucheries end?

I know that's tongue-in-cheek, but I thought about that. With Nick finishing them up in batches, I thought he could possibly just photograph each batch before it's sent out. The ten knives in two or three batches would be cool. Of course, individual pics of each knife, both sides, would also be great eye candy as he gets ready to send them out.

Heck, I don't want this to end anyway. :D

...but hey, I'm always up for debauchery.

Sorry guys, didn't Joe send you all the memo?!?!?

I'm putting Aluminum.... or Alu-min-ium as they say in Australia, on ALL the knives!!!

A group shot of all the knives, including the "misfits" would be SUPER COOL... but I'm not going to make you guys wait that long.

Nick, your ability to satisfy customers with endless choice amazes me. I just noticed in the photo of the five blades that you have two right, two left and one inverted carry. How cool is that ?!!!!!

Oh man NIck I did not tell you my preference!!! Inverted or not please make sure mine is a righty!!!;)

OMG mine is inverted! I suppose it's too late to do anything about it now eh Nick? Knife fights are going to be very interesting from now on....:D

Well what fun would a Wheeler thread be without a little bit of Murphy stepping in?

New lesson, don't let idiots use your disc sander because it will get screwed up and then that makes you the idiot. Especially when you are in the middle of finish grinding blades and can't remember how you worked without a disc sander.

Luckily I have a lathe, a decent four-jaw chuck, a dial indicator.... and could fix it.

See those grooves... those are NOT supposed to be in there! :grumpy:  Who'da thunk it??? ;)

After taking it down 0.050" to get the grooves out, and a couple skim cuts... it's back to my favorite color- SHINY!!!!! :)
