Isn't it funny how sometimes you assign voices to peoples posts online when reading them as if they are talking. Blackeye4you when I read your post a devilish pissed off voice came to mind when reading it. These forums can be entertaining even when the topic is controversial lol

My little tiff with the Usual Suspects runs long and deep with about a dozen issues, not including the Hankins situation. You have no fricking idea what you're talking about.

Yes, I like Hankin's work, and I am interested in dealing with his knives, as I am pursuing dealership options for about a dozen other knives... You should start bashing them too. I'll get you a list as soon as I'm done, and don't worry, I won't sell to the likes of the Usual Suspects.

What upsets me, is that the Usual Suspect jerkoffs can't seem to keep your asses off other boards. I can't stand the hipocracy of you asswipes feigning "cleanliness" on your board by coming over here to dump your sh*t. Behave here the same way you behave there. Otherwise, we're gonna sh*t on you. I personally would like to know how people plan for this one to end??? I imagine Mr. Hankins is band from other said forums by now. These threads have one of the highest hit counts I have ever seen lately, so allot of people know about these incidents. Robert apologized for doing what he did, admitted it was wrong, and is not even selling the finished products. This reputation is tarnished in my opinion. The slander is flying left and right and he is taking it right on the chin as penance for his deeds with no back talk. So what now??? Is he supposed to quit making knives and give up his lively hood and go live in a cave somewhere or is this thread just going to end up in the archives with a select few continuing to spread the word of his sins. I personally would like to know when and how this will end to everyone’s satisfaction so we can move on. It's obvious we are not going to get an "All is forgiven" out of this one, So what now???

I just want to know when someone is going to look up who invented the e-planner stylus and give him/her credit for the idea . I mean damn they even posted a planner DAHHHHH ... And while you are at it give credit to the asians who have made chop stiks , oh for a few thousand years. Damn , I forgot that these original stick things are no more than a machinist scribe made of cheap ass scrap Ti . But then again this was an ORIGINAL ,never thought of , used or designed before IDEA. Yeah right,and the average size of the male phalic is 12".

I don't know you at all so please don't take this personnally, I would say the same thing to your face. The above quote seems to sum up a lot of the feeling in this thread. I've had several designs copied, I'm speaking with SOME experience. Problems like this don't just go away, no happy ending...... No group hug. A bad situation was once again exposed and confronted, the pieces will fall where they may. I'm sure any reasonable person can tell the difference between making something similar and and EXACT copy, point made on page 1. Anything else is pure spin and BS. Again, based on my exprience in these matters...... People that are looking at this, expecting closure and a happy ending, need to step away from their monitors for a reality check. It's kind of like a traffic accident, everyone is free to "move on" after they've had a good look!!
 
Mr. Blackwood, I appreciate your comments and no offense was taken in anyway. It's not a surprise you have had problems with knock offs, you work is outstanding. But again I am still trying to figure out what happens next???? I feel that everything that could possible be done to Hankins has been done. Would everyone not agree?? I defiantly know there is no happy ending here, but what kind of ending will we have?? Thanks

Some of the people posting in this thread are wandering off onto tangents that would fit better on the Whine & Cheese forum at this website. Thread drift happens, but this one is beginning to drift a bit too far.

Cross-forum flame wars are pointless. If you want to criticise a forum post it on that forum where it could accomplish something. If that forum censors criticism, just don't go there, IMHO.

There are a lot of different knife forums on the net, and most of us knife knuts are members of at least a few of them. They're all different, and that's a good thing -- it gives us a choice, and we don't have to choose just one; we can choose as many as we can find time for.

Thanks for clarifying your position in this matter.

I also see that your majorly pissed off with the USN for "a dozen other reasons not including the Hankins situation". So, between the fact that you have twelve personal axes to grind combined with the fact that you are looking to make some money off of Mr. Hankins knives pretty much sums up your agenda here.
As far as uncivility goes, I didn't come over here to call you guys "bad names". I came over here to see for myself the rip-off that was happening. I am glad to see that Mr. Hankins has cleared that up. I don't have anything against BF members, I would have gone to whatever forum where this was occuring. It just so happens that it was here.
You guys can try to claim that Mr. Hankins didn't rip-off Eric's work (right down down to the way he held the item in the photo) and that's fine with me. At this point its really about your own personal agendas because Mr. Hankins has already apologized for what he feels was wrong.
 
If you guys want to turn this into a BFC vs USN tiff, be my guest but do it somewhere else - I know just the place. If you hate it here so much, leave. Don't come back. Be a man & Moderate yourself.

Past that I think the relavant issue here has been resolved; ie Robert got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, got chastised for it, and promised not to do it again. Now we just have to see if it sticks. Hopefully he funnels his energy into creative designs.

Where will it end? Words won't answer the questions raised in this thread; only actions can do that, and that'll take a while.

Robert Hankins could have made chopsticks that didn't look like Eric Blair's and advertised them with a pic that didn't look like Eric's -- if he had wanted to. (The knockoff factories could make knives that don't look like Spydercos, too -- if they wanted to.)

Evidently Hankins has learned that marketing strategy doesn't go over well with the online knife knut community, and he has decided to change his ways. Will he change his strategy only slightly, marketing knockoffs a little less blatantly? Or will he give up the whole idea of knockoffs?

Only time will tell....

I've already stated that I would not sell to Usual Suspect members so my agenda is obviously not specifically to make money...

If you must pry, I am pursuing dealership options so that I may give my friends access to knives at wholesale prices. Quite a few BF and USN members can attest to the fact that I've given away hundreds of dollars worth of knives and members of USN, Guro Jeff and Snake eyes, can attest to the fact that I'm independently wealthy and need not make a goddam penny off of knife sales.

Again, the foremost axe to grind is as Spark stated, that the USN vs. BF should not have crossed over again. My complaint on this thread was that one of "yours" came here to sh*t on the carpet. That is the issue I addressed. My opinion that USN does not deserve the respect of "design exclusivity" is irrelevant to the issue I am addressing.
