Well, he is checking in, just not responding to these problems.

All the lies are starting to catch up and he knows peopleare starting to find out the truth about him. The more he posts the more people start to figuring it out.
 
There are a number of Nocturnal Knives videos on Youtube. What I found interesting was that "Gene" was not in any of the videos. The guy that is in the videos mentions a partner, but never gives the partner's name.

Have you ever seen a more shady convoluted company? The guy is like a evil inspector gadget always hiding his name and who he really is.
 
I am currently having daily back and forward emails with Gene trying to get my refund. He just continues to stall. Even though I paid him via PayPal he is refusing to repay me in the same fashion. A USPS Postal money order is completely worthless in Australia. Our post offices, banks etc simply do not accept them. Its Paypal or a Wire transfer from his bank to mine. I'm really starting to get frustrated.

Past the 180 days I suspect. Might even have been back when it was only 60 days. I wonder why he can't refund the way he was paid? Paypal shut him down? This Gene is a real piece of work!
 
You must have money in your paypal account for that to happen, I suspect.

Nocturnal Knives could still send him the money paypal gift, money order, or $5 bills a day for X amount of days until it was paid, he probably could have walked the money to him by now. All nocturnal knives needs is that next lie to be accepted.
 
I paid in full in the middle of 2014. Paypal complaint is not available to me. I'm seeking the $660us which I paid and thats it. I covered the return shipping of the knife incorrect custom knife which was delivered on the 15th March as per the tracking information showing "DELIVERED". What a surprise that Gene has emailed to say that the knife has never arrived... But He'll refund me anyway. What a swell bloke.

The more I read this thread, the more I am coming to despise "Gene." By his actions he is revealing to all that he is a man of very low character.
 
It went to his PO. Box and although I sent him screen shots twice and the tracking number and link 3 times, I am still expected to believe the unbelievable...

If in the first instance the Custom knife could have been rectified in a timely manner... I would have been happy with everything. I waited a year to receive my order after paying in full 6 months prior, then after I received the knife and wrote to Gene about the mistake, he wrote back acknowledging his mistake (the knife was not even close to what I requested/paid for). I then waited a further 6 months, wrote again and was told that Marbilized Carbon firmer was so rare and hard to come by that he had not been able to get any. So I waited a further 4 months.... and then asked for a refund.

That was 11 weeks ago.

I'm sorry to hear that man... Here are a couple of points to his lies.

1. The biggest lie, marbled CF is not rare, I have 5 different places you can get it from right now. Even if you wanted a custom piece it only takes 1-3 weeks depending on the place. I literally just finished a knife with marbled CF, I ordered it and received it within 4 days. I don't know any maker that can't get it and it's not that expensive.

2. USPS delivery has a location delivery tag on it, when the carrier scans it and marks it as delivered it logs the location, especially to a p.o. box. So this is another complete lie by him.

3. It doesn't take 6 months to make a knife, a custom built knife all made by stock removal can be done in a day, especially with his rough finishes.

He doesn't have any money, he has not gotten another sale to perpetuate the pyramid scheme to refund you. He used that money for his own purposes and not making knives.

Gene, How many different lies have you been caught on just in this thread. Save the last shred of dignity you have left and refund this guy.

Gene has offered to do an international wire transfer into my bank account. I have sent him the info and am now waiting for the Transfer / a response.

I'm being told that I'll have my refund by the end of this week... That is in about 48 hours time. I'm betting that there will be some last minute issue with my refund that will stall yet longer.

Anyone care to make a wager?

Hopefully what little of his conscience he has will make him send you the refund....
Gene reminds me of that one guy everyone knows that keeps on making bets and losing and the 1 time out of 50 he wins a bet he thinks he's doing alright....
 
I wonder what "Gene's" excuse is for the wire transfer taking so long. When he couldn't issue refunds via PayPal, it was PayPal's fault. When he was taking forever to send out checks, it was because the Post Office was closed. Now it is taking weeks (months?) to issue a refund via wire transfer... but I am sure it is not "Gene's" fault.

Has anyone found out any more info about Nocturnal? Who is "Gene" and what game is he playing? He is still posting on Instagram, apparently building new fixed blade knives and telling people that the folders will be ready soon.
 
No refund and also no response from my email prompting Gene about refunding me by the end of this week... As he said he would in two different emails.

Pity no one took me up on the bet.... Maybe that way I could have recouped some funds!

Earlier this week from Gene:-

You will have the transfer this week. We have only done a couple of international bank transfers in the past, but each have been available immediately. You shouldn't have to wait for the funds once they hit your account.
