Northwoods Bear Lake

Derek had an online Facebook Q&A session this afternoon and he said to expect the Steve the first week of December. No pictures. The real name will either be the Bear Lake or the Bear Lake Jack.

Sounds like the "Steve" is gonna be a jack knife. If so, I hope it's not a big one. I'd love to see him come out with a small pocketable jack.

I only have one Northwoods knife. Very nice knife. I am a fan of the giraffe bone.
We need more pictures.....

Great looking knife, hamsco and I couldn't agree more.

Ok, in the spirit of needing more pics, here's my only Northwoods (so far). The Bloodwood Michigan. Great knife. Definitely will be more in my future. Also looking forward to seeing "Steve". [emoji2]

Also in the spirit, here is MY only Northwoods. It's not my photo, but it is my knife. It will be delivered this Christmas from family in California. :)

So we still have no idea what it is?

From the GEC production schedule, we know that it's a spear blade and what the handle materials will be. I think that's all we know, right? I'm curious to see if they expand the "rustic" series to another blade shape besides the Bohncliffe. They could presumably do a swedge with the scale and stamp on the spear, or it could be more like the Esky.

They've already done a rustic spear on the Burnside Jack and a clip on the Hawthorne.

Yikes. Thanks for correcting me, Steve. I, um, forgot about those. I was just looking at a Hawthorne on a popular auction site last night. Must need another cup of coffee or something.

Please allow me to amend my prior wildly misinformed post:

I'm curious to see if this particular knife will feature a plain blade like the Esky Zulu or if it will have the scale and stamp like the previously released, very well received, definitely exists, Burnside Jack. Ahem.

Steve is now on GEC's production schedule. I guess I was a little late, oh well.

No worries. I've posted plenty of wildly incorrect assumptions here myself as well! :o I figured it would be good to see the rustic spear in this thread anyway.

I am still hoping for a stainless steel blade and in a rustic spear that would be great!

Thanks for the update, Derrick. Can you give us any other cryptic nuggets of information about it? An amuse-bouche, so to speak? Can you confirm, for example, that it will be larger than a Case Peanut and smaller than a Bark River Barong?

I only have one Northwoods knife but we will have to see.
If steve is done as well as my Zulu then I may consider a second.
here is a picture for pictures sake.
