Northwoods Fremont Jack...Need Comparison Pics.

Snagged this beaut this morning as I woke up, #42. Whoever got #60 is a lucky dog, that's the top one in the featured pic on the KSF website.

I really want to push the button on a Fremont but the scales just aren't there for me. I don't know what would do it - white bone would. Stag from previous runs looks really good. Black micarta would be classy. Black ebony would be sweet. Cocobolo would look good. The mammoth ivory looks awesome of course but cost of entry isn't for everyone and I use/carry my knives a lot. Oh well, I'm sure there will be more runs. It's a popular pattern for sure!

I'd really like a jigged bone Fremont to go with my Calico Bone, Stag and just shipped Blue Camel Bone. I was about to pass on this run until the replacement Blue's were added.

It's always a possibility on the next run. I think the smooth camel bone goes very well with the style of the knife.

My wife got yellow bone # 14,I got blur bone15.Well that should have been it,but I had to JUST LOOK at the Mammoth.I knew better I really did.#28 mammoth is my birthday present , and Christmas present . No more knives for a few months.

I use and carry my knives a lot, too. I figure if the mammoth has held up this long, it should be fine for a few more thousand years :) In all seriousness though, I've never noticed or had problems with my mammoth scales cracking on my knives. Now, I don't go baton my mammoth folders or anything, but I use them just like any other knife of mine and they just look better and better every day. Long story short, if it's the money holding you back, I completely understand. If it's the worry about hurting the mammoth, take the plunge!

I was saying the same thing to myself, the colors on that one were incredible.

Nice score btw Logan!

Thanks Jon! I picked up a blue one from the last run and this one will make a nice companion to it. It's got a good amount of catching up to do patina-wise though :)

My Blue should be here this afternoon, my first knife ever in camel bone. Pretty dang excited. Kind of forgot what it looked like. That's the only thing I dislike about KSF is as soon as a knife is sold they take the picture down. Usually I like to drool over the pic of the knife I bought while its in transit :)

Sent you a PM with some more info, but you can still see the link for awhile before they take it down. They just hide it from the product page so people don't spend time scrolling through knives that are already sold :)
You can go to My Account -> Orders -> Order Details and click on the link there (it's still active).

Thanks man!!

Just got my blue today. Love the subtle hints of white and yellow. The scales don't match up perfectly but that's alright. Nice snappy opening with a great halfstop.

Honestly..... I was hesitant in going with the yellow bone, but now that I have it in hand, I am delighted. I think it complements the Burnside Jack very well. A couple of keepers there. :D

From the pics the yellow looked really bright, that's what turned me off of it, but looking at your pic it looks really nice actually.

You're right Jon. It had that "lemony" look to it. But it turned out okay.

I like the variation in yours. Looks great!
