not happy with this transaction

im am going to make this as simple as possible
if you or your wife had emailed me to tell me that you could not mail
the knife out for 15 days in the first place i would not have had a problem with that

i understand that ppl are busy

but leaving me in the wind with no
communication is not good

Being busy does not excuse failure to keep the customer informed. When we make a purchase over the internet we are usually dealing with a relative stranger. Good communication helps set the customer's mind at ease and is an essential component of any well run business.

Ive never had a complaint about my shipping pratices before.I sent you the confirmation # when it shipped and the web site address and phone # to track it.If thats not good enough for you thats unforunate. As for other customers having problems with my buisness,i have only received good remarks from e-mails and PMs.I spend 12 -16 hours a day in the shop filling orders and if i cant respond to emails all day thats just how things are.If you are not happy with the knife or the shipping just return it and ill refund you your money. As for insurance ,my wife misunderstood the amounts i wanted (5 knives went out that day)and you paid only $10.00 regardless of how much your package was insured for.
Wow..........

1) Failure to ship in a timely manner
2) Poor Communication
3) Failure to address customer concerns in an appropriate and timely manner
4) Condescending and Cavalier Attitude towards legitimate customer concerns.

That's not even covering the topic of how much it cost the buyer at customs because insurance claim details werent disclosed or worked out between buyer and seller. When business suffers because of poor business practices, well....thats unfortunate and just how things are.

You have the knife so i dont understand your problem.Im not going to hold a customers hand untill they receive the knife, they go out as soon as i can and get a tracking # when it ships. Also shipping was express to canada ($33.50)you only paid $10.00 as we agreed.

Wow what a bad attitude. Couldn't you have just said something to the effect of "my bad, I should have communicated a bit better?" It's not holding someones hand when you won't even communicate with them. You leave them to wonder what's going on after you have their money.

You are really laying some groundwork here to "not" get any new customers from this site. Guess you do not care. To the OP you have been a stand up guy. Sorry you had to go through this. Not all people act this way.

Same here - add to Ignore immediately.

All MStephan does on BF is peddle his wares, I think he probably needs a time out to realize that the folks he is being so condescending to are the ones buying his groceries..... perhaps he would do well Selling on another Forum because BF doesn't need Members with this kind of attitude.

mstephen, I was really hoping that you would be far more understanding in your reply. You give the impression that you feel it is perfectly OK not to ship for fifteen days after you have received payment and that you feel that communication is too time consuming, and besides, customers shouldn't need their hands held. You're not making a good case for yourself. You appear to one of those business people that thinks that customers are a necessary evil.

Maybe I have you all wrong, but that's the way your replies have read to me.

up until now i have tried to be polite, due to your last post i will now be blunt.

This entire mess could have been avoided

it would have taken you only 2 minutes to let me know that you had received the money, and you were very busy so you could not ship the knife for about 2 weeks. you could not even extend this simple courtesy instead you left me hanging, I found this to be very unbusiness like and THAT is what I have a complaint with. This speaks worlds about your business. you have shown your true colors on blade forums now and that will speak more about you than anything else.

glad everything turned out ok, and thanks for the alert on the seller!

You have your knife and had to wait 15 days for it ,to me thats not a big deal.

You seem to be having a hard time comprehending. Lee isn't upset about the knife taking a day shy of three weeks (not fifteen days, it took you fifteen days to ship) to get to him. He's upset about the total lack of communication. Customer service is an important part of doing business. It's not something to be pushed aside due to the fact that it takes up your valuable time. If you truly believe that keeping your customers informed is having to hold their hands, you are definitely not someone that I would ever do business with.

As, another outsider looking in, i hardly see how your smart remarks and trolling here is helping matters.

Well stated again, keith! I have the feeling that alot of good prospective customers would feel the same way.

It's quite irrelevant as to what you think is a big deal.

Considering, as has been pointed out, you appear to have joined BFC solely to sell knives, you're now doing a fine job of cranking off the very folks who would support you in your knifemaking endeavors.

You, not Mr Brooks, screwed up.

Two weeks IS a big deal. Two weeks without communication from a guy who has my knife and my money is a big deal. Let's say that to some of us here, and that may look like ALL of us except Dawkind in this little conversation, you disappearing (and yes, lack of communication for two weeks will look like that) with our money and our knife looks highly suspicious.

Had you simply taken it upon yourself to inform Mr Brooks of your impending issues, which would have taken perhaps two minutes, he'd be a happy customer.

Whatever he paid for shipping is not an issue at all - you agreed to it, so you don't get to complain about it.

What is an issue is that you kept him waiting for a while, after payment, etc without letting him know where you were in the process.

Perhaps it is the age of the internet which has stripped away patience, but it has also stripped away trust. Since it's very easy for someone to run a con or scam, you as the seller have the onus of trust and a good transaction on your back. It's not the responsibility of the guy who has paid you to track you down.

Your tone here should be concilatory, but instead you are telling him, the guy who was kind enough to buy your handmade knife, out of the literally thousands of knives available, that you value his business so little that it does not matter if he buys your knife or not.

Thank you for making this so simple for the rest of us.

It's not my intention to "help matters" ....and you consider me trolling because I choose not to pile-on as you do?
