Can you share how do you know what’s the typical brk quality? Have you seen every single knife they haves produced or something like that? Maybe a chart comparing the amount of knives they sold to the amount of warranty claims? I remember you too, something about Mike Stewart hurting your feelings right?I find this situation rather funny given op’s post history.. I don’t really see anything wrong with the retailer shipping that, looks like a typical brk “quality“ knife.
Let's try to keep straight just exactly who has hurt feelings here. Can you share how do you know what’s the typical brk quality? Spot on, entirely the manufacturers fault and a good dealer will cover for them. This entire thing is incredibly ironic given how he treated people sharing their issues with brk.Just wondering - do retailers generally hand-inspect every piece they sell? I’m thinking not - they trust the manufacturers’ QC to not let crap like that out the door. I expect items purchased as new to come in factory-sealed packaging, which means I’m the first one to see what’s in the box once it leaves the factory. I’d also think the good retailers will try to make good on an obvious manufacturer defect, and then settle the tab with the manufacturer. But it’s also on the buyer to check up on the retailer’s return policy before completing the transaction - I know I do before pulling the trigger. This is all on BRK, and ironically this kind of thing is just part of what some folks here were trying to warn members about when dealing with this particular brand.
I’m not even sure that the knife was sent like that to the retailer or was damaged in their hands but still, you cannot buy knives from brk you have to buy the through their retailers. My problem is not with the knife since I have not tried reaching out to them and in my experience they’ll make it right, if not I’ll be putting it here to let people know. My problem rn is with a retailer that would send something like that to a buyer and then ghost them on a warranty claim.Just wondering - do retailers generally hand-inspect every piece they sell? This particular retailer posts individual photos of BRK (and other) knives due to handle variability. That picture was linked in the OP.Just wondering - do retailers generally hand-inspect every piece they sell? Hey Kiteman72 so good to see you here too, is there a brk haters club I was not aware of?Let's try to keep straight just exactly who has hurt feelings here.
So you have used the knife? The handle cuts faster through my hand that the blade through rope, it’s not even covered with epoxy.
I wonder how do you know it’s a manufacturing issue without even seeing the knife? I mean I have the knife in hand and couldn’t tell you who damaged it.Spot on, entirely the manufacturers fault and a good dealer will cover for them. I hang out here every day Smarty Pants.Hey Kiteman72 so good to see you here too, is there a brk haters club I was not aware of?
I’ve handled it, why? Haven’t cut anything with it though. So you have used the knife?
Not just when I want to cry that my pet knife company has sent me a lemon. And now you want to blame an upstanding retailer.

Well, you said "the handle cuts your hand quicker than the blade cuts rope" or some such. That's why I quoted it.I’ve handled it, why? Haven’t cut anything with it though.
Sounds like a fun lifeI hang out here every day Smarty Pants.
