Okay, new question, what are you driving?

My work truck is a 1994 F150, 4-wheel-drive, supercab, 5.0L engine. At 170,000 miles, I know it won't last forever, but I'm not spending money on a new truck for the gasfield.

Just sold my '95 Lincoln Mark VIII. 140,000 miles, still ran like new, but did need an occational repair now and then. Best-designed interior of any vehicle I've ever driven.

My 'new' car is a Honda S2000. Man, is it fun! And fast! Anyone who doesn't own a convertible that red-lines at 9,000 rpm is really missing the boat! It's my first Honda, my first import car ever, and my first convertible.

Wife's "family wagon" is a 2002 Lexus RX300. Aside from the typical ergonomic/design complaints that I have with many imports, it's a good car for Wife. Cargo room for dogs and baby seat, all-wheel drive, enough power to get around, and seems to be very well built.

Good Luck in your hunt! With the 0% financing from GM, I'd be tempted to buy a new GMC truck, if I needed one. 4-wheel drive, leather interior, supercab, and rear-wheel steering.

Quick question, why do you prefer cloth over leather? To me it seems that leather is ten-times easier to keep clean. Sure wish my truck was leather; I'll never get the dust, BO, and dog odors out of my cloth seats... All of our other vehicles are leather, and keeping them clean is no harder than a damp cloth and dab of conditioner.

Have you seen the new Lincoln trucks? To me a truck has always been just a truck. Of course there were some that I thought looked better than others, but none of them raised my pulse or anything like that. Ford, Chevy, Dodge, all just trucks. Until I saw the Lincoln Mark LT! My palms began to sweat, my pulse raced, and I felt a bit dizzy. Of course it's priced at a totally different market segment than myself...

We also have three motorcycles, Suzuki Savage (Wife's learner), Vulcan 500LTD, and Suzuki Volusia. If your goal is to save gas money, thet's the way to go. Even my bulky Volusia gets 40-50mpg, and I know Wife's Vulcan does better than that. Snap on some saddle bags, add a luggage rack, and you're good to go for up to two weeks (my max so far).

Had a 99 Z until last year when I traded into a Nissan Titan. The Z was one of the best trucks I have ever had. Owned it since 99 and only had one problem with it. The electronic module for the 4WD kept blowing out about every 1.5 - 2 years. Had the 5.3 liter motor and mileage averaged about 15 mpg.

I am driving a 2006 Toyota Tundra Double cab, Limited, with the TRD Off Road package, in Spectra Blue Mica.I LOVE this truck!!

Wow, this is an old thread, but I love talking trucks. My Blazer has just crested 250K, and is still running strong, knock on wood. My old Toyota p/u is being retired to the status of field truck. My Blazer hopefully will be relegated to the carport, or throw a tarp on it, I've got my eyes on the new Toyota Tacoma. I'm looking at a 2005 or 2006 4WD 4 door Tacoma, V6. If I can't get one of the newer models, then I'll go for the 4dr 4wd 2002-2004. I've been looking at the Silverados, and their mileage, and while I really like the Silverados and their room(I'm a big guy), I can't afford a gas guzzler, especially with the events in the middle east causing rising gas prices, as I write this. Plus I work 45 miles from home. I was also looking at a Tundra, which has the Toyota name and quality behind it, but the MPG is worse than the Silverado line! I looked at the Colorado and Canyon line of smaller trucks from Chevrolet and GMC, but they looked too small for me. I really like Chevrolet, but every Toyota I've seen, except for those made in the mid 90's, last and perform 100% every day. Can I hear some more comments on the Toyota Tacoma?

Daily driver/work truck is an 05' Tundra

toy is an 02? I think Miata built for the track in sleeper mode. EVO stage 2 turbo, bilstien coilovers, wilwood brakes, Kuhmo slicks............we put 211 hp to the ground, fun little track car. Probably selling it soon for a Lotus Exige though.

Oooooh nice choice on the Exige! You'll have to post pics when/if you get it.

Why let the thread die??----people change vehicles all the time
I was merely frustrated at the moment that I had unknowingly replied to a out-dated topic.

Very cool Miata! Roadsters rule, and the Miata is the best-selling roadster of all time.

This isn't my exact car, but it's identical:

I test drove the new MX-5 Miata. Very nice too!

A 2002 Ford Focus ZTS and a 2005 Mazda6 Sportwagon that we bought in January of this year for $5000 off of list. I LOVE that car and wish that I could find the sedan version for me. I particularly love the six speed auto with sport shift that allows me to control what gear I am using.

2006 Jeep Liberty CRD. Just love the engine on this thing. It's a beast and when I get back this babies going to northern 4x4 ;) Already put 26,000 miles on it! Figure since I'm not driving it for a year kind of evens things out. Unfortunately, DC has decided the diesel wrangler will only be for export for now :(. I still miss my old rocky though. My goal is to figure out how to get one of the diesel sportracks imported.

Mazda RX-8 Shinka special edition. Redlines at 9000 RPM, 6-speed manual transmission, really wide gears, 186MPH top speed, seats four comfortably, useable trunk. I LOVE this car!

Richard

I have a video showing one topping out at 186MPH. Note that the automatic transmission loses 40 HP...

Richard

I find it very hard to believe an RX-8 can hit 186 mph. You need a ton of power to overcome the drag at that kind of speed, way more than the 240 or so the RX-8 has.
