This old Case Congress is almost smooth from many decades of pocket carry. It's likely my most precious possession as it belonged to my best friend of nearly 4 decades that was called Home a few yrs ago. 🙏

That Queen looks nice. I haven't seen that pattern before.
This old friend had been hidden from burglars so long, it was a complete surprise to come across it.

Must have been my favorite best scout at the time.

Thanks Jer, it's a great size, and a really useful pattern. And it was a gift from our pal JohnDF JohnDF 🙂 Great when you find an Old Friend you've forgotten about 🙂 That's a nice one 👍

It reminds me of my single-blade Buck.
I've put my favorite best scout back under the T-shirts to surprise me again someday.

A German carbon blade from a non-participating parts dealer, and a sheath made from Irene's purse discarded in 1978.

That reminds me of this Old Friend I picked up in Sheffield in 1979 Jer :)

Posting that knife also makes me think of another reason there are so many Sheffield knives without a maker's mark. I met the maker of that knife about 15 years later, and his explanation was "For tax reasons. I don't want to pay any!"
