Osage is the new Black, er...Bog Oak...

[newb alert] What is the middle knife [/newb alert], and why is it your son's favorite?

Thanks!

~ P.
My friend don't ever hesitate to ask questions on here. I've been at this for about a year and I'm still new to the game. This is a remarkably generous place and almost everyone on here is always willing to help. Ask away.

I believe that middle knife is a pocket Kephart. I could be wrong and I'm sure someone will come in and correct me if I am. It is wrapped in Osage orange with blue stripes.

It is my son's favorite and most treasured knife because it was a surprise gift from a remarkably generous friend.

... It's not the knife. It's everything else. It's why I stick by these guys at Fiddleback Forge no matter what.

Thanks so much for so graciously receiving my questions, and for the explanation.

Ok, here's a challenge and some definite crazy talk ...

How about a bog oak bolstered osage (or) osage bolstered bog oak Old School Ladyfinger 3/32 CPM154 for an Auction Knife?

In the spirit of Halloween or Batman theme, it could be a Two Face version and have bog oak on one side and osage on the other.

The boundaries between worlds are so easily crossed...especially in this thread.

Ahhh...so good to be back after a week of limited access. And all should beware - our friend Panthera has been wrangling gators!

I thought your standard mode of operation was limited access ;-) Welcome back :-)

Jerry, don't tell me those are all yours? Don't. Just don't.

Huh?

The bog oak group picture wasn't giving great individual detail overall so individual pics seemed better. If it helps, I do own one Osage; a WAS Bobcat which is a superb EDC size/shape and feels absolutely weightless. 3/32 over BLUE / natural.

 Nice Bog Oak collection Jerry! The Osage Bobcat is not too shabby either. ;)

Thanks Gus! Likewise on your BO collection too. Love that Toboggan! Eventually, we'll take over the Osage thread ;-)

I was thinking about all that talk about Osage aging and Bog Oak simply has the age advantage here. There's another theory on the internet about Osage changing color with age; Eventually it will turn into Bog Oak - like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. Hey, its on the Internet so it must be true.
