OT: Fiddlebacks & Firearms

And that's it for me. I am totally out of Fiddlebacks to pair up with firearms and need to get back to the flea market and scrounge up some more. This has been a fun endeavor for me and I hoped you all enjoyed it as well. I will leave you with what I assume would be an awesome carry combo. My 9mm Smith and Wesson M&P Shield and its little buddy...

Cool.....I counted 14 new Fiddlebacks since this last post. I'll have to crack open the safe and bust out the camera this weeekend! :D

Great combo
My old retired gunsmith used to say 6.5x55 was the perfect caliber
He's 83 now

Thanks, Vance! I definitely have the same opinion about the Swede as your old smith. It doesn't have rapid barrel throat erosion like the 6.5x284 and will outhustle the .260 and 6.5 Creedmoor with handloads, not bad for a cartridge designed over a century ago. Scandinavian to our domestic brass dimensions can be a slight issue when building a rifle with a tight tolerance custom action, that's nothing a fur flyer like this one has to worry about though. It's a great round that hits hard and is inherently accurate in a good rifle. There are a lot of truly great cartridges, I just prefer the old Swede.

Doh! 2 more Fiddlebacks ;) this week so I'll need to update 16.

So let's do some pistols! I feel compelled to recreate the missing Runt photo with the Runt I now own:

Sticking with a carry theme, here's the carry combo I've been most fond of lately. A blasted Commando 2FK with black G10 and a Custom Shop 3" 1911 with all the edges knocked off. I hesitate to call it a Kimber anymore because the only thing Kimber are the slide and frame:

Next up is a handy little combo. A Sig P232 in .380 (there will be lots of Sigs today since Will started the thread an he seems to like them :D. Me too!) with an EDK wearing slate G10 over black and white and a beauty mark. 5/32" O1 and a TT.

If you were to want something a little larger, how about a P229 in .40 accompanied by a Big Paw BC? The BPBC is 5/32 O1, TT and sporting sapphire Shadetree with lime over black:

My favorite carries on the competition course - an STI Eagle 5.0 in .45 and an Infinity 2011 in .45 (you'll see the passion for blue bleeds into other areas as well). They are accompanied by an EDCII in Fiddletextured 5/32" CPM154 wearing cornflower blue G10 with white over black, TT.

However, I've been switching it up lately and some greens are staring to creep in. A nice example would be a Fusion 1911 in 9mm paired with a Blueback Bushfinger wearing emerald Shadetree. 1/8' 01 SFT. Trinity pinout. White over black.

And to finish off todays update, Will likes Sigs and I was lucky enough to acquire a Bushcrafter Sr. with Ironwood burl over black g10 with white pinstripes, SFT, 5/32” 01 in a trade with him. It's become one of my favorite users. Will appreciates nice wood (that sounds so wrong). To combine his like of nice wood and Sigs, here's a photo just for him. The BC Sr. with the Sigs I have that wear Nill Griffe wood. A nickel P220 in .45, a Gray Guns custom P220 in .45, a Langdon P220 in .45 and a P226ST in 9mm. Both the Landgon and ST have trigger and reset jobs by Earnest Langdon.

7 down, 9 to go!!!!!

No words, man. I'm in awe. Take those photos, make a calendar and it's going on my shop wall.

I have no words for this thread - you guys are blowing me away … wow.

Rick was on to something. A calendar! :) Some of these pics are amazing! I wish I could contribute like that. My cell pics fall so short. Great pics everyone but even nicer firearms and Fiddlebacks.

This thread is addicting. My wife keeps accusing me of looking at porn from the smile on my face!

OK Vance, you've upped the ante. I need to work on my angles and background. Maybe break out the macro lens.

M4 these were taking with my iPhone 4s
Vance,

how do you like that G26 vs. the S&W snub?
They both are easy to conceal but I like have 12rds instead of 5. It can get a little crazy at the shop

Nice shots guys! Here's my Chiappa Rhino 60DS and new Bushfinger. The Rhino usually inspires either love or hate. Nothing in between.

I love this thread. It is rare to see the same knife and gun combo between anyone here. Great contributions Phillip (I.e. "M4") and Vance. Way to up the bar with some great photos.
