Actually, I am a one "l" (I.e. "Philip"), but the bottom line is is that it would be ill advised to make any us feel threatened no matter how we spell our names. :)

OK, let's get this knocked out.....

First up, my favorite sidearm while hunting - a Fusion Hunter Tac-6 in 10mm. The pigs at our ranch refer to it as the "finger of god". Kittens die at the mere mention of it, so please discuss it sparingly. ;) Coupled with, what else? but a Hunter - Black canvas micarta bolsters over emerald burlap with trinity pinout, 5/32" O1, SFT

Next up a few rare(r) Sigs. A West German P220 in single stack 9mm, accompanied by its little brother a West German P225. The Sigs are paired with a Jade G10 Bushcrafter from Blade 2014. White and Black G10 liners 5/32 SFT 01.

Just to prove I have firearms that are made of wood and not all synthetic, we have a Bushcrafter with gorgeous curly mango over black w/ orange pinstripes, SFT Tang, 1/8” 01 accenting the nice "fiddleback" figuring in my quail gun - a Ruger Red Label stainless receiver over and under.

Here we have an example of fine Czech Republic craftsmanship, a CZ75BD Police in 9mm with hand crafted grips from Norway by master craftsman Hakan Pek. The grips are accentuated by a Bushcrafter with Black ash burl over black g10 with lime pinstripes, SFT Tang, on 1/8” 01 by master craftsman Andy Roy and his merry band in Cumming, GA.

When the big boys come out to play you need a big knife. The one that fits the bill is a Camp Knife with Emerald green burlap over black canvas micarta with white pinstripes, SFT Tang, convex on 3/16” spalted 01 steel. To keep up with the heft of this zombie slayer, we have a trio of my favorite 12 ga. - an FN Herstal SLP Mark1 Police Magnum, a Beretta 1201, and a Benelli Tactical Super NOVA

Hanging around camp fixing dinner with your 3/16" 01 Camp Nessie with oreo Shadetree over black with yellow liners and worried about bears? GP100 in .357 magnum.

Back to the "tacticool" side of things with a pinch of the outdoors. MP5 Clone in 9mm with a Woodsman - Black micarta bolsters over Slate g10, Trinity pinout, Tapered Tang, 5/32” 01 steel.

There's a running joke in my family regarding a Gen. Patton quote and the difference between ivory and pearl handled pistols. Needless to say, I ended up with a pearl handled .22 pistol as a gift. Here it is with its brother (awesome plinkers by the way) and an appropriately paired knife - a Bushcrafter with Buckeye Burl over black g10 with orange pinstripes, Tapered Tang, 3/16” 01.

I won a green Springfield XD .45 at a competition once. As a double stack .45 that I'm not attached to, it makes a great truck gun. Gawd is it ugly. The knife however, is not. Bushcrafter with dark green maple burl over natural with blue pinstripes (Andy's choice for sweetest knife the week it was sold), SFT Tang, 5/32” 01.

_DSC2256.JPG

And finally, one for my father. He would like this knife, a Bushcraft Senior with natural canvas bolsters over African Blackwood, Tapered Tang, convex on 5/32” 01. Paired with his old carry piece - a Cimmeron 3 1/2" .357 magnum, hard case hardened with parrot head handles.

OK - I'm out of knives again!!!!!!!

But what is your preferred bear load?

Awesome pairs Phillip! I think your gun collection is even more awesome than your knife collection. That is saying a lot considering how primo your knife collection is. I like your mix of fancy woods and bright colored Shadetree burlap and G-10's.

Wine and food pairing seem so tame compared to knife and gun pairings. Great contribution to the latter category!

The fundamental tools. Work horses of their crafts...

G23_2-small.jpg

You may notice the G23 Gen 4 is missing some features and has some added. Finger grooves removed, under cut trigger guard, Gen4 texture removed, personalized stippling.

The Bushfinger sits basically unaltered other that some forced patina for protection from salty southern atmosphere.

All done in house. I just can't leave stuff alone I guess.

I keep coming back to this photo. I love Rugers and the Bisley model is fun to shoot. The custom walnut oversize grips look perfect for your large hands Dave. The Recluse looks like a perfect match for that gun. You don't see the mid-tech Recluses come up for resale very often because most people really like them.

Thanks for posting the photo Dave. Nice composition!

The Ruger Bisley is a really nice shooter. I wear that when I'm deer hunting for anything close but I haven't had an opportunity to use it yet. It's a nice set up with the Galco Kodiak holster. I tried to grab the walnut Bushfinger Sunday from the flea market to match this gun but I was too slow on the draw.

I'm still trying to get better with taking pictures on my phone but here is my esquire with my sig P320

How do you like the 320? I had the opportunity to run one last month while taking a class with Bruce Gray. Not enough to form and opinion though. All the instructor guns were 9s. I'd like to try the new .45.

I really like the trigger pull its really smooth and I have enjoyed shooting it put around 300 rounds through it. I love the take down of the gun I just lock the slide back and push down on the lever and slide pops right off.
