Our "Front Porch" ....

Well, since law school and realizing I have zero desire to be a lawyer, I had spent a lot of time weighing options from rational and easy to crazy and implausible. I've seriously been considering some variety of law enforcement as soon as my current obligations allow me to move on (hopefully by the end of summer an end will at least be in sight). I think I'd prefer something on the federal level, though we will see. It's the one path that I think might actually make me happy rather than rich(ish) or that is just easy.

Well good luck in your ventures Nathan! I hope it all works out for you amigo! And I think happiness = richness IMO

Thanks buddy! Nothing is set in stone yet and I still have a significant amount of obligations to fulfill before I get back to myself. It's something I've tossed back and forth for a long time though, and more recently has seemed like a good next step for me.

NJ best of luck in deciding where to go with career, I have many friends in the FBI, a couple with law backgrounds, they certainly have enjoyed an exciting career. However I'm sure there are many opportunities at the Federal Level.

On a side note this is my 1000 post, and I must say in the last two years this sub forum has provided me countless hours of entertainment and education on anything Hinderer. The best part has been hanging out with a bunch of really great guys and sharing our experiences. Never has anyone been judgmental or antagonistic, instead only understanding, support, encouragement and some locker room ribbing. Even though I venture off in different areas of BF the overwhelming posts have been here, there is no place like home. All I can say is thank you to all that make this a great place to be. I especially appreciate the Mods and especially Scott (Rubi) for keeping our house clean and providing superb guidance. And of course to Rick for making crave worthy knives and keeping this sub forum open for us to enjoy. And to Mr. O the gatekeeper to the Ranch and our conduit to new and interesting products.

Joe...congratulations! 1000 posts is quite a milestone!
I haven't been on the forum nearly as long as you, but I have found it to be the same as you describe and feel the same way.
You, in fact, have been one of the people that has made it a similar experience for me.
Looking forward to your next 1000 posts!

Congrats on the 1k posts my friend! I too shared the milestone not too long ago and share the same feelings for this community. It's a great place to hang your hat for a while.

NjH- Good luck with all that is before you, follow your heart and nothing else, All that you need is in your soul. Just be satisfied.
The above is a paraphrased song lyric that has been a personal favorite of mine for many many years and serves as guiding light to this day. I expect it will be played at my funeral some day.
F.O. - Thank you my Friend for the heart felt sentiment. I congratulate you and thank you for ALL you contribute in making our place what it is.
I will offer this to our group (new and old) I "met" many here that I was then graced with their personal (3-D) company on several occassions and the friendship grew and was only enhanced. Trust me when I say, I got to "know" them here and when we met in person and shared meals, drinks, met Wives or Nephews or Girlfriends - there were no surprises just a continuance of a friendship already forged.
Pretty neat.
I could list the names but you ALL know who you are and for those of you who I have not seen in person - I expect the experience will be no surprise either.
Great place to Enjoy Because of You Guys. As always, thanks go out to Rick and Rob for providing the venue, Mike and Pete for the many years of selfless service to the effort.
Hope Everybody has a Safe and Happy (and Relaxing) upcoming Memorial Day and a kick-off to the Summer Season :)

Guess this could have gone in several threads (Hinderer Pets, Take them out of your pocket, the Pic thread, or here) I was just trying to balance the knife, the dogs and my phone to snap the Pic and the phone rings - It was Rob O, so its his fault for the crappy pic:)

Nice! WF Wharnie Wedenesday! What's the news from Rob??? Fill us in :D

He said if I told anyone he would have Pete kill me. Pete is on the Right in the Pic and while I would hope Mason (on the Left) would run interference..... I've seen Pete "attack" and kick an 800 lb. Black Bear's A$$ so, I think I will stay hush hush.
I will say this - Amazing things are coming ;)

Haha! That puts a smile on my face!! :D I can feel it too man!! Can't wait to see what it is too!!! There goes the Hinderer dancing pee pee dance again!!!

Joe, Cheers to your 1K post brother!! Glad to be apart of this place with these fine people :D

Thanks all, looks like some of you have been very busy and becoming increasingly friendly with your delivery person, here is mine his name is Kevin and he is originally from Alaska and is going to retire this year and go back.

I know of one person that could be informed and no harm would fall upon the messenger. ;)

Then again, if I really need to know, I could be proactive about it.

@Final--congrats on passing the 1K mark.

Thanks N2K, you have been to helpful along with others keeping this sub forum alive and interesting. I feel like a pilgrim ( Jeriimiah Johnson movie staring Robert Redford ) along the likes of guys like you, so much to learn.

Ugh, I hate when your car breaks down and you don't know or have a good trustworthy mechanic because the guy you trusted retired. :-/
