Our "Front Porch" ....

Nice edge :) (and the pond to top it off)

Looks like a beautiful day to be on the porch there! We're getting a break from the rain, blue sky yesterday when I walked outside the Sq to go home - BUT the mountains had a pretty good coating of Termination Dust (i.e. snow) down to about 2,000' and there's a good nip in the air this morning.. My deck is currently covered with frost :) Oh well, it's good football and grilling weather anyway - trying to decide between ribs or a pork shoulder in the smoker for college ball tomorrow...

So it begins. Sitting here drinking coffee, glance out the window and behold snow falling.. I'm sure it won't stick, but c'mon - Sep 22nd?!

At least you'll have some nice smoked ribs or pork shoulder to eat while it friggin snows. We had a good frost here the other night but hopefully the snow will hold off for another few months. You going to stick around there after retirement? Or will you be packing up your hinderers and heading someplace sunny and warm year round?

Well I might look into a snowbird house in AZ, but otherwise I'm staying here. I gripe about the snow but don't mind it, I love being here.

Snow? I don't know if I am ready yet, I did have to dig out the jeans just recently.

Big news, I accepted a job offer! Going to be making evil black rifles!

I have not run into someone yet that lives or lived in Alaska that didn't absolutely love it.
I had a buddy in the Army that turned down Hawaii to take Alaska. I had the misfortune of being present when his Wife found out (after the fact)
Whew.... glad nobody got hurt

I gotta admit, I was on her side. Alaska might be nice but.... come on.... Hawaii :D

Lol, yep that's about right - it's the unusual, er special wife like mine that prefers AK to HI. I'm lucky in that regard.

I was actually stationed in HI before here and hated every minute of it. I was happy to be deployed from there..

Lol! indeed I am! She'd rather be in the mountains than the beach, fishing rather than tanning - win-win for me :)

Yea I prefer lakes and mountains to the beach myself. I love the change of the seasons and I actually don't mind a few months of winter. Congrats on the new job BT! That sounds like a fun gig. Can't wait to see some of them in the guns and hinderers thread. It's about time that got bumped back onto the front page.

Very Cool, Good news on "the Porch" - We are ALL happy when good fortune shines down on one of our own.

Here we are, the Seasons are getting ready to change and serve up what only Mother Nature can. Great time for jeans and an XM in the pocket, nice jacket, camp fires and out door activity of a different type.

Good stuff.

Thanks everyone! After being basically unemployed, and trying to find web work, it will be nice to have a steady income again.

As the old saying (true) goes; IF you love what you do, you'll never "work" a day in your life.

Here is to BT doing what sounds like it might just be something like that :)
