Howdy folks,
I had a rather interesting experience the other day, and thought I'd share since it may be of some interest or use to some of yall. I like cowboy boots and wear them almost every day. I'm miles from an actual working cowboy (tending a few cows, horses, and assorted other barnyard creatures every afternoon is not even close to what those guys do), but my boots get pretty heavy wear in everything I do. I wear the same boots feeding that I wear everywhere else. In short, I usually put them on around seven every morning and take them off around nine every night meaning the same boots get about 14 hours of use every day. I was doing a little Christmas shopping with the family the other day, and my brother-in-law was trying on a brand of boots that he had been telling me about for years named Rios of Mercedes. I had never tried them on, and honestly I had reservations about spending more than a couple of hundred dollars on boots without exotic skins or that weren't custom made for my feet. I was dead wrong. As someone who has spent countless hours in boots, I feel like a fool for not investing in these years ago. It was the same feeling I had when I first handled a Hinderer, there was no going back. The quality and feel difference is absolutely night and day. The older man who owned the shop went into detail explaining why, exactly, these felt so different and all of the subtle things that were almost invisible until you put them on. If anyone is a fan of cowboy boots and looking for something a little different or wanting to start off the right way (and trust me there are tons and tons of very bad options lurking out there), I fully suggest you give Rios of Mercedes a look! Oh and pictures:

If anyone is curious about any of the boots, some of the details that makes my new favorites (or any other higher end boot for that matter) different, or anything else please ask! I have learned a lot about firearms, watches, pens, flashlights, and knives around here. I'm always happy to contribute anything I can if folks are interested.
