Our "Front Porch" ....

I had a Honda Prelude (four wheel steer) pretty cool. The rear wheels steered with the fronts at high speed and opposite the front wheels at low speed.
It was fun to watch peoples reactions in parking lots when they saw the rear wheels turn too.
Nice car.

FO, yes there's definitely a lot of history in that car! I've used that username for countless things; email, school related accounts, you name it. I've got 279x miles on the car and around 100xxx on the motor. She and I have been through a lot!

Rubi, I always wanted to try out one of the models from 97-01. I can't remember when they introduced four wheel steering, but I wouldn't mind giving that a "spin"! Unfortunately mine's had a pretty good run and is nearing the end. It was the first vehicle I saved up for and purchased myself. Before that I drove a 92 Dakota for a couple years that was a family truck. Now that was a quick light truck! The 318 v8 magnum GOT it going!

Mines blue as well. Here's the only available pic I've got in my photobucket account right now. I'll have to upload some better ones when I have more time!

Wow I haven't thought about the prelude in years. The girl I had a crush on all through high school (and part of college for that matter) drove one. Pretty fun car as I remember it!

I've been insanely busy lately, and haven't had nearly enough time around here, for reading, or much of anything in the way of hobbies. Thankfully the next few days should be pretty quiet- a mini vacation really, so hopefully I can catch up on all the stuff I've missed! On a somewhat related note, I decided to sell one of my watches that I never wear (it was a gift from an ex, and not my tastes at all) to free up some new toy funds to reward myself for all of the stuff I've been working on lately. I'm not really sure exactly what in on my radar in that price range, and I'll probably try to keep myself on a reasonable budget, but it may be time for me to splurge for an HDS and some new pretty hardware for my XM. It's probably been a month or so since I got my CF scale and I have that itch that requires a new toy to tinker with to scratch it.

Your prelude comments just jogged my feeble memory. When I was in Junior High, our music teacher drove a dark blue second gen Honda Prelude. Outside of the music classroom, there was a parking lot (where the car was typically parked) and within the parking area, there was one particular spot were two very large and old maple trees grew approximately six feet apart. One day, some of the boys that weren't terribly fond of that teacher decided to pick up her brand new Prelude and strategically locate it between those two trees basically making it impossible to get into.

She was none too pleased, every one of us got detention for it as none of us ratted out the culprits. It didn't help that the parking brake got damaged in the process.

Well done! I went to high school with a different girl who drove some especially tiny older car we called the microwave. It became a joke for a few guys to pick it up and hide it random places. Good times all around. Honestly though, were all preludes blue? I'm sure other colors exist, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a non blue one in person.

Funny you say that, I think blue and red, particularly for those early generations.

The prelude I knew was definitely blue blue- not even vaguely navy or muted. It was a good looking car and certainly fun to drive (I've always driven trucks or jeeps, so all cars are a strange thrill I suppose if they have enough engine), but its sort of strange that so few colors show up. I think this may be too many high school flashbacks for me in one night.

hey yall! Man, Iv been so busy lately I havnt made it to the boards for more than a second or 2 to post a pic or whatever here and there. feelin alittle distant! :D ...my Bday just passed on the 10th, I went to my favorite artists art gallery here in NY, just a few hours away. Boy, did I have a fantastic time in this "sacred" space...no shoes allowed, for real. ;)

ALEX GREY ...if you dont know who he is, please check him out. Alex and his wife Allyson He has done alot of famous work, including most of the band TOOLs recent albums art work. So I had to make my pilgramage to COSM (chapel of Sacred Mirrors) for the day.

Wow, love the pics! I, like many I suspect, got introduced to his artwork through Tool album art. Very cool art!

I had a professor in undergrad who loved to frequently shout the Rudyard Kipling quote, "And what should they know of England who only England know?" I always appreciated that one, and it is a good reminder to always understand the world around us in comparative terms- preferably comparative terms of our own experiences.

In terms relating to our joint interests, I always like going back when I can and reminding myself of what is out there. It makes me appreciate more what I have, and if each and every evaluation is done in a fair manner sometimes you can be surprised at the results of revisiting something. I love my XM. I sold off most of my collection to get my first one, I've spent time and my toy funds getting the rest of my EDC setup up to standard, and now I'm back to just saving for what may pique my interest next to change. Before I got my first XM, I had a variety of different, quality knives including but not limited to CRKs, Striders, Limited edition ZTs, etc, but I've never really had the opportunity to directly compare any of these by having my own personal knives in my hands at the same time. I've been doing a little trading on the toxic green forum lately, and had a chance to pick up a knife model that I had previously owned. I'll leave out exactly what it is- it doesn't make much difference, but if anyone is actually curious I'll be happy to share via PM. I held this previous model in very high regards. Actually, it was my second favorite behind my XM and I was excited to get another back in my hands. While waiting on it to arrive, I wondered how I'd feel about it now. Would it be great and hold up as the peer of my XM? Could I even prefer it to my XM? After all, I'd never had them at the same time to really use or examine. I was open to whatever the experience might have been, and was actually excited to compare.

I could try to be more detailed in what was wrong, what I didn't like, or what wasn't for me, but long story short 5 minutes later my XM was back in my pocket and I happily have my daily choice reaffirmed once again

I love listening to TOOL. Especially Lateralus. Being a drummer, I have much respect for bands that incorporate multiple time signatures and constantly pushing the boundaries of their instruments. Also, the artwork definitely reminds me of 10,000 Days! Cool stuff Jason!

^^^ I have to agree! I love listening to Tool blasting on some good speakers!! They are like a rock orchestra to me!! Great band and cool art work. Now I know where it comes from thanks to Cooldaddy.

NJ, I agree with you about knowing, or I guess understanding what's around us. I to sold off my other collection when I got into RHK. Lately I have been snagging up a couple others to compare as well. Definitely makes you really understand and feel what Rick has designed and accomplished in his knives. Job well done that's for sure.

I think lateralus, reflection and disposition would have to be my favorite songs to them. That little outro riff to reflection always gives me chills. I don't know what it is about it, it's such a simple melody...

Maynard is from Ravenna, Ohio originally, just NE of Akron. I listen to a fair bit of their stuff, The Pot was great but I like songs from all of their albums. The Hitler parody thing has been over done, but if you haven't seen this and you are a Tool fan, it is pretty funny:
