i did not tell LouZava that it was Mr. Angerers knife. I had 3 of them, one of them went to p40, one was supposed to go to rob - the one in contention

and the third one was going to another buyer. I was contacted via email about it and it was returned, and i never heard from my buyer again.

if louzava assumed it was mr. angerers that is not my problem. I did not say or imply that in ANY way.

EDIT - i read through the string of emails and unfortunately, i was not clear in the matter at hand. I did not say it was mr angerers knife, but i also failed to say i had three of them, so i guess it was not very specific at all. I did tell him that one of them had been stolen in the mail, but that was after mr angerer told me that he got a empty envelope.

with everything at hand, it really looks like the knife was stolen. i know the OP is quoting PP's post to help his "investigation" but honestly i dont think this thread will help him at all, it might in fact do the opposite.

it does not change the fact that PP lied about sending the refund though.

Probably a little late for this, but has anyone suggested "Judge Judy" ??? Man, I am with the rest of the responses, just send the refund certified mail, insured & return receipt requested, & be done with it. That covers your end of the sale contract.

If the Postal Inspectors have initiated an Investigation it is probably best that PP not refund the money just yet.

i offered to refund him about 6 pages back and let that stand for 12 hours

no one in their right mind would give a refund after being told NO - very rudely at that.

all i got thrown in my face was sarcasm

And I sent Jill physical payment in the mail about 90 minutes after we agreed on the deal. And somehow, like the other 100+ transactions I've done over the past 8 years on BF under this username (my real name, by the way) and my prior username (rdangerer), my instincts tell me this one will go very smoothly ... and in the VERY RARE case there's a hiccup, I have zero doubt that Jill and I will resolve it behind the scenes quickly and smoothly. Period.

In fact... I'm struggling to remember ANY case of "no knife shows up" over the past 8 years. Some arrived in worse-than-advertised condition, or arrived late, I think one guy returned a knife when he decided it wasn't for him or he was low on funds or something... but I don't think I've ever even had one arrive damaged. Now, that's just one guy's experience... but it's a statistically significant sample size well over 100 on BF and Knifeforums... and well over 300 if you count the various knife dealers and custom knife makers. It's just very, very rare to have shipping problems if you handle it competently, especially the higher the dollar amount.

And that's a major point of this thread. Moses set off my BS filters immediately after I sent the Paypal, with his overcompensating email about sticky fingers and scanned receipt & delivery confirmation slip... and sure enough, it all came to roost with an empty envelope and a lie about a refund payment that stood for 8 days.

Anand claims he has many successful transactions, yet has only 3 feedback items in the last 12 months on this forum (another warning sign I should've respected) and yet he has not supplied any prior usernames on this forum. And now we know he closed his Paypal account after harvesting my $260... for some reason... hmmm, maybe to avoid that claim route? I'm just sayin... caveat emptor.
