Para-Military in CTS-204P

I missed out on the pre-ordering, but if somebody doesn't want theirs I'll be happy to assist! :D

They probably just wanted to catch up on the Southard demand a bit before throwing the steel toward the Para.

Look at the bright side. Spyderco has gotten a lot of production experience with the steel on another knife. The heat treat for the Para 2 will be that much better once they are in the front of the production line.

This is the thread that never ends.

I was just thinking that. I didn't even want this version when this thread started and now I catch myself wishing I had pre-ordered. If anyone did and wants out of their pre-order, I'll gladly take your place in line.

If you would have caught me a couple of months ago after I sold all of mine off, you wouldve had mine. But I fell back in love with the PM2 and Im looking forward to it again!

I can't wait for it. I only have the grey sprint para2 and I've been carrying the pink manix lately, I think its time for a new spydie to be in my pocket.

Where in the hell is this knife? Today the dealer said that they are expecting them in May. What a joke. Of course, they say I am welcome to cancel my pre-order and lose my deposit. How many releases have there been with this steel since pre-order one year ago?

Poorly played, Spyderco.

Exactly one knife with this steel since pre-order. It is the Southard, produced in a different facitlity, with a totally different blade thickness, with a totally different grind. Just a few variables that could explain the delay. Oh, not to mention the complete backlog of Para 2 orders in general. Maybe regular production taking precedence over sprints/exclusives of a particular model is also a factor, just a guess.

Deep breaths.
You don't honestly think that it's as easy as that do you?

Seriously, regular production of para 2's can't keep up with demand, combine that with the availability of 204p (1 spyderco product), give them a break. This will only solidify it as one of the most desirable para 2's to have.

haha. Deep breaths. Deflect, deflect!

As easy as what? Spyderco gave an estimated delivery date to the retailer. The retailer gave an estimated delivery date to prospective customers and took a deposit on the knives (in Jan or Feb 2012, I think). Spyderco took deposit on the project. The estimated delivery date was August 2012. It is February 2013 and the new delivery date estimation is May 2013. They have since shipped this steel to Taiwan for another company to produce knives with. What am I missing?

Honestly, I couldn't care less about the knife at this point. The deposit money is not critical to me. I only remembered the thing because it's almost March and I'm surveying my green knife options.

Criticizing a business for failing to meet a deadline and tying up my money for a year and a half seems fair enough. If that does not seem fair to you, then we will agree to disagree.

Jazub, I missed the preorder. I understand you are frustrated and read that you dont even care for the knife and your preorder anymore. If we can work something out, I'd like to get your preorder off your hands, what did you order, two? I'll take them both. Let me know, PM me! I know for a fact that I wont be able to get one at the preorder price, so pass it along bud!
