You're kidding, right?

I have a truly handmade friction folder made by Hiroaki Ohta. The blade was forged and ground by hand, the handles were ground by hand, the pins and pivot were set by hand, etc.. Benchmade has their parts made by machines and then someone puts them together by hand.

By your definition, every knife is considered handmade.

Bingo.

No, that was the point. Wheres the joke?

What are you saying differently other than rephrasing the point? The sarcasm? The hands of little chinese people?

Are the representations of customer support of a brands products not the representations of the brand?

By all means, argue with them. Not me.

You really need to get off this point. Your definition of hand made is off from what most here think. Either that or this is deliberate. Not a good look either way.

One email wipes out the mountains of other evidence? Come on.

Let's try this. Define what is not handmade to you.

Am I?

Im still wondering though, what knives arent made by hand? Perhaps not the hands of the designer, of someone in the know, but hands nevertheless? Maybe, the hands of hundreds of little Chinese minors, but still hands all told what to do with some specs/instructions/orders. Some, with good hands, with some natural talent, will even make them better.

Thats a chinese assembly line for you. All said, it seems handmade parts would be more apt, yes? Has any knife maker finally reached a point where a knife is made through full automation?

And to craytab. Youre wrong here. Own up.

Benchmade's words. Not mine. Thats its bud.

I'll say it again....because a worker gets a box of manufactured parts and screws them together into a finished knife, does not make it handmade. It's hand assembled. Big difference.

You can also voice it to customer support if you are inclined to do so. Yes?

The better question is how much direct involvement of the maker is needed to reach what is custom, right? Are a couple of hands allowed to help? Must the entire knife be made by maker? With collaborations cutting close to custom level, is true custom mean everything made and touched by one, that guy?

How much you willing to pay?

Now you're going to confuse handmade with custom just for the sake of argument??

Please...

Just stop...

My brain is starting to bleed.

This thread is a classic example of people just don't know what they don't know :)

Take it easy on the OP

You should quit while you aren't ahead.

So you think a cnc or laser cutting blades and plastic molded handed knives is hand made? You also think that when a company says they manufacture products they really mean they handmake knives? Okay bud. Yup. This is starting to take on a former argumentative troll type of smell.

I'm out. Enjoy being wrong. Also enjoy everyone else telling you that you are wrong

This is handmade... Every knife I make is done this way.

Is that representation directly from a representative of Benchmade false? That all its knives are handmade.

The point to which craytab has issue and believes support is stupid and wrong. This is the point here, right.

My tale may deep for some of you.
