Photo of the new Mora Garberg full tang

Yes, though I don't expect them to fly off the shelves like the Pro and Basic models did when they came out. :D

Did they sell well? (legit question; I have no idea LOL)

The oddball LightMyFire versions up here in Canada are very cost prohibitive at approx $45.00 plus tax. A firesteel only costs a couple dollars so...

I can imagine this new model will sell for around $100.00 here.:rolleyes::rolleyes::confused::eek::foot::(:thumbdn:

It looks good but it seems too pricy, especially here in Canada like Czechmate said. It seems they're aiming outside of their usual price segment, but most people would not want to pay so much for a Mora, no matter how fancy it is. Reminds me of when Volkswagen released the Phaeton which cost around $100k and not many of them sold because people thought that paying that kind of money for a Volkswagen is ridiculous.

I think they're crazy. I wouldn't pay 100 bucks for a Mora in 100 years, no matter how full the tang is.

Have you driven one?

Maybe not worth $100k, but the Phaeton was awesome.

Didn't it become the basic Bentley instead of flopping as a production VW?

I think it was basically a VW-branded Audi A8. Good car, but sold poorly because of the perception that VWs don't cost $100k. Now it's a great deal if you find one used, they depreciated really quickly. I think this Mora may turn out the same way.

The responses to the $110 MSRP make me chuckle. Too often I've heard that Moras are such great knives, no one needs anything else. I guess folks are going to need to start qualifying their statements more. Instead of "Moras are great" I hope we'll be hearing the more reasonable "Moras are great...for the price." Lol...

Mora's are great, for what they are--an inexpensive but effective tool that won't win any style awards. The reason they are popular is because you know you don't have to pay a lot to get an effective cutting tool that is a great bushcrafting tool. Do they cut better or worse than other brands like helle, martinii, etc? No. But that's the appeal. You don't have to pay Helle prices to get one. If I am going to pay helle prices, it better have helle style to go with it. If not, I will just buy the Helle or Martinnii.

Did anyone get specifics on what kind of stainless steel this is gonna be? For over $60 I'd probably pass on 12c27, but I'd be real interested if it's 13c26 or 14c28n.

The tang sticking out of the end of the handle might hinder some woodworking tasks. Way too expensive.

People pay way more than $60 for 1095 knives. ESEE comes to mind.

Knife value is a funny thing.

I'd save a few more bones and get Dave's ESEE model, honestly. I'm definitely not paying $65 for that.

That collaboration is over, so better save up for something else. BTW, nothing with DC involved is coming my way, just saying.

Hi! Aesthetically to me it’s not very appealing. It reminds me a bit like the old 510 on steroids, with a Fallkniven F1-like exposed tang :). Also, if I remember it right, the full tang thing for Mora it’s not a complete news, they had the Lapplander in production somewhere during the ‘90ies. Anyway, if they confirm the steel choice as 12C27, the the 3.2mm blade thickness and 109mm blade length I think it can be a good outdoor tool. Good the upgrading of the sheath to a leather one . I share the perplexity about the estimated cost (they say around 100 EUR here). I start to find several good competitors in this price range and it will position a Mora product far outside their normal pricing policy.

Oh, I agree. I've got no problems woth steels like 1095, 420HC and 12c27 in outdoors blades, but for a knife in this size range I prefer to keep those purchases at around $50 or under.

I agree with this, even with pricier scale materials.

Which is to say, I think a lot of people pay too much for their knives, particularly in steels of this kind.
