Please help.

This is the biggest steaming heap of fly-blown road apples I've ever seen.

Your NW vernacular is lost on me. :D

However, you paint a vivid and compelling picture, so I feel impelled to agree.

Is like PC buffalo chip/cowpie, ?

Looks like he is looking for another knife already.
what was the point of this thread
? I'm not really looking for another knife, I'm just seeing what's available. BTW, just an update to you all. I settled it with my dad. He is keeping the knife with him and giving it to me when I need to use it. I guess that's a fair compromise :)

Looks like your dad got himself a spyderco freebie lol
Nah hes not a knife guy. He's just hiding it lol. He works in an office all day, and when I used the term EDC, he had no idea what I was talking about. He did think it was a nice knife, and mine is so smooth he mistook it for a switchblade lol.

BTW sorry for saying lol so much... That's a habit I have to kick

Sounds like your Mom has a case of hoplophobia. It's an irrational fear of weapons. It really is a mental health issue as you described in many areas. Sorry you have to deal with this, but it will get worse. Imagine when she finds out you bought your first .45! :)
Yeah I have a 1911 in my back pocket right now [emoji23]. Jk. Seriously though, I think you're right

Cmon man I'm well aware of the a**holes, no need to add fuel to the fire. :(

Right.

Enjoy using your knife when you get the chance.

Yeah in hindsight it wasn't smart, but it didn't seem like a big deal to me. To me they're tools, not weapons. I didn't think there would be any problems.
Yes I clearly understand but unfortunately nowadays a young person can get in trouble for simply carrying a knife under the wrong circumstances. Your welfare is her #1 concern. ;):)

That is sad but true, where I grew up in va back then it was weird for a boy not to have a pocket knife of some sort.

A few weeks ago I was taking my step son who will be 13 in August over to a wooded property we own to clear some brush and enjoy the outdoors. Well he always brings his knife with him(Gerber prodigy) and had it on his belt when we stopped at a gas station to get some water. Well we went in and he went to go look at snacks while I got our water(maybe 15'away). Next thing I know I hear a state boy over there giving him a hard time and asking what he needed that knife for. I politely stepped in and told him quite frankly aslong as he isn't doing anything wrong it's none of his business why he's carrying a knife, (South Carolina has basically no set knife laws regarding age to carry, length, concealed, or autos)

Hell I'm 31 and have been harassed by law enforcement for carrying a small (-5") fixed blade on several occasions. I forget what state I was in, (one of the libtard states) but he kept asking why I was carrying it, my response is always the same It's a tool. Well I later find out from a local guy that had I said for self defense I could've been arrested and charged with a felony carrying a dangerous weapon.

With luck, your pops will start to like the Spyderco and will become a knife nerd!
