Maybe if you buy them, you can put in a claim with PayPal afterwards. You can show PayPal the police report and your pics of them.

I definitely say buy them (DON'T PAY). Get Paypal, the Police, EVERYONE on their ass. Try your best MtnMan. It's not just about the knives, it's about NOT tolerating thieves. They BROKE INTO YOUR HOME.

Sorry man that is so lame. I say buy them back if you could win the auction. Honestly in my experience with theft claims the police will look for any reason to dismiss the whole case due to the many loop holes in the system and the amount of work that they would have to do in order to prove in front of a judge that the property was yours to begin with. Also its easy enough for the seller to claim that they were a gift and she had no knowledge of how the knives were obtained before they were in her possession. I for one would be willing to throw 20$ your way to help cover your expenses or bid on your behalf to increase your chances. This sort of thing really pisses me off anyone of us could fall victim to the same. Anyway hope you are able to get some resolution good luck and let me know if I could help
 
Another point is that I have heard paypal won't cover your claim because it falls into the weapon category which they offer no protection for. Not 100% sure just what I have heard.
 
As much as I'd love to hear about a Mtnman vs. Scum meetup and smackdown...I'd suggest AGAINST any kind of face 2 face meetup Drey.

Follow up with the authorities <as weak as they may be>. But you never know, they may be able to knock on her door and get your stuff back.
 
If she/he/them were only selling one of the Le's that was numbered... this way you would know for sure if they are the stolen knives.

Drey, You can message her that you are looking for other busses, the le versions in particular and that they are worth more and you'd pay more. Maybe tweaker greed will overcome tweaker cunning.
I would definitely follow Pete 2.1 advice and don't do a face to face unless you bring the cops.
Unless of course you have a well armed militia to accompany you.

This excact thing was already tried with her a few weeks ago. These knives are all she has. I've been all over this case for weeks with Mt.man.I felt like a real Hardy boy. I kept it off the forums just incase she or someone she knows frequents here or googled Busse knives trying to find information about them. Guess I was giving them too much credit to do something like that. I don't wanna speak for Mt.man but given the evidence, there isn't much to go on from a LE pov. Until something more definitive pops up.

Maybe it has already been discussed but I'll throw it out there anyways.
Should one of us make a bid on it. I believe that'll make it harder for her to simply cancel the auction. That's important if she were to find an offline buyer for example and then the knife will be even harder to find.
 
Thanks Guys, like Bullpin said, We been on this a while, and i thought about bidding on it, but theres good chance the tweaker will just end up with more money, im hoping i can convince the officer to have a conversation with her, and she might spill the beans who she got it from, and that might match few suspects we had for break in.
I"ll keep you posted, in the mean time plzz learn from it, get a big ass safe, small once just put everything in convenient 1 place for thieves, and Be Careful who you trying to help by letting them stay with you for a bit. Theres more to the story, but its all im gona say about that, now lets cross our fingers for that HG55 LE #69.

I for 2. Let's just get these blades back in the right hands. MntMAN, can you post you PayPal address? I'm sure a few others would love to pitch in. If something gets resolved you can refund everyone. The starting point is getting these knives in your hands. After that you can try a PayPal disputed, local authorities, whatever. Hell maybe then you'll have a return address. Please don't be shy.
 
For sure let the local cops know. If this is a known fence/crackhouse they may be just waiting for the right thing to trigger a raid. Seizing weapons from criminals plays well on the news.
 
Really appreciate that Guys, it means alot, but its about making those A$$hole$ pay, not the Great Hogs of BF.
Now. If some one had a HG55 LE they'd wana sell, thats a different story lol
