Roger that. This thread will stay open then, to keep people updated on the progress of the GSO-4.1. Ok, your first update then. ;) The M-390 is already at a facility, waiting to be cut into knife blanks. I ordered three sheets of CPM-3V from the mill yesterday and those sheets should be shipping out tomorrow, to the facility where they will be cut.

Also, I picked up a short sheet of CPM-S90V, only enough for a few knives, just to see how it might compare to the M-390. What can I say, I like to experiment.

Actually, scratch that Guy. I had S90V confused with 9V. BIG difference! And it sounds like S90V is really similar to M390 anyway, right?

Haha! Yeah, big difference there. You won't ever catch me playing around with 9V. Hardness is too low, with too little impact strength. No real up side to using it in a knife, considering all of the other steels out there. S90V is more similar to M-390, although they do have some composition differences that could make them perform differently, which is why I'm giving it a try. Being they will be the exact same knife otherwise, it will be a great apples2apples comparison.

Yes, even after being tumbled, the spines will still throw a spark, using a firesteel. I am not carrying the taco style sheaths but I know Kiah does make them and would be willing to do that for anyone interested. Perhaps in time but until I can expand and employ a few people, I need to keep things to a size and variety that I can handle myself.

If no one has claimed the other knife in S90v, well that is just silly. I definitely want it. "Dibs", "shotgun", whatever is required sign me up. BTW will those be going for the preorder price or something different?

Shit, I might have to get a little more S90V... I was just going to be testing it mostly but if some of you want one, I'm inclined to make it happen. Let me see what I can do.

Not yet. If I took your money now, you might settle on the basic model, when in fact I'm working on trying to make a few super high end Ti versions. ;)
