Primble's Mystery GAW - Prizes Mailed

Great idea Primble, I love to look through threads like this :)

Charlie's Radio Jack has barely been out of my pocket since it was gifted to me by my friend ScruffUK. Here it is last weekend, at one of my favourite spots, Whitby on the North Yorkshire Coast.

I have a full report coming up on my trip to Whitby, but here's a taster ;)

Thank you for your entry Jack and I know how fond you are of the Radio Jack. That is a very wonderful knife in a landscape photo! I always read and enjoy your stories and thank you for the taster.:)

A little history of where I live.
Jackson, MI was founded in 1829 and named after President Andrew Jackson. Jackson is the birthplace of the Republican Party in 1854 and the Coney Island hot dog in 1914.
Before Detroit started building cars on assembly lines in 1910, Jackson was busy making parts for cars and putting them together. Over twenty different cars were made in Jackson.

Here are a few old Post Card pictures

Nice to hear about the history of your home Mark and I enjoyed the old post card pictures.:)

the clues have been quite direct;

horses bounding, horses and wagons, horses and hounds, numerous thoroughbreds, parks, old mills, foxes, lubrication (could be booze), three (could be sisters) and what is obviously the red white and blue of the Union Jack ( ;) ).

Primble - the mystery is a Bronte novel???!!!

LOL I think I speak for everyone when I say this has been great fun!

Paul :)

edit: and by the way, the prize should be whatever you pick.

Very very funny Paul and as far as the prize goes - well - I asked. :D:D

Well, the long distancers have finally arrived. WOW - some have called this GAW EPIC and now EPIC is world wide!

In the last 24 hours, we have new entries from British Columbia, New Zealand, Yorkshire, England, and Austrailia. I would say that is a pretty diverse mix.:eek::D

Last call for new picture entries today and tomorrow, as the new picture polls close Friday at midnight. I thank everyone who has participated and it has been quite fun for me - I have enjoyed all the pictures from afar, but, the fun is not quite over.

The mystery questions will be posted before long and there will be a chance for someone to win, another way, if you will. ;)

ohh - I almost forgot - the clue for the day: #12

Have a good day and good luck!

Thank you my friend, very kind of you. I'll hopefully post the full tale at the beginning of next week. I've finally got round to purchasing a new home PC, and I'm sure you can imagine what fun I'm having!   :D

Ok. I'm here and ready for some more clues. I've been lurking, reading, wishing I was in a different place(es) and quietly waiting for more. But I'm done waiting patiently! Give more clues!

On a softer tone, the prizes are excellent. A pleasure for anyone. Of course, the fact that the light blue case didn't make the cut somewhat saddens me. :grumpy: I suppose I will eventually get beyond the sadness. I just hope my family doesn't suffer in the process. At least we have a toothpick to soothe our heartache.

Always an adventure! :D

More clues please? :D

OK Jennifer - even Mark could figure this one out - or Riley - I would bet on her! Better use your note pads! :D:D

P.S. - that light TEAL Case might come back in the picture - if the right person wins the mystery, which seems to be turning into something more like Jeopardy. I have been working on the questions for tomorrow. They will likely be easily answered. The mystery now seems to have evolved into a what will the Jeopardy or Mystery knife be? ;):)

P.S.S. - As I went for my walk this morning, it became more apparent to me how I want the prizes won. Here was the conclusion I came to. Pictures that made the most impression on me win the top two places, and a random draw for third place, then a mystery knife for the Mystery/Jeopardy game winner. Remember that I said in my initial post:

I might select the winner from the pictures I like the best or if you include a story that I like, that might have a bearing - or

I might change my mind and throw everyone's name in a stew pot and mix them up!

How does my prize conclusion sound with everyone?:)

Your giveaway, your rules ;) but I'm more than sure that everyone here is in awe of your generosity and doesn't really care what method you choose...we're all busy keeping our fingers crossed :p

Thank you Fausto. I have noticed the horses arriving at the downs today, to find out which 20 get picked to run in the Picture Derby Saturday, while the trivia is in progress.

Here was one that seemed to be smiling. Maybe he knows something I don't!!??:D:D

Jone I'm with you on the teal Russlock. I'm really keen on that one.

Primble all the knives you've shown are excellent prizes. And like others have said it's your GAW so you make the rules.
(I like your suggestions for selecting the winners.) Thanks for the fun I'm really enjoying this thread.

Extra picture: my town's cathedral:

And two more about horses. The second biggest folklore festival here is named Cavalcata sarda; it's basically a parade of traditional clothings, but it does retain some of the original horse-themed spirit:

One of the things many Pittsburgh people are passionate and prideful about is our professional sports teams. The following images we're taken from a Google image search.

Since the Steelers are playing tonight this seemed appropriate.
Heinz Field

The Pirates ballpark really shows of the city.
PNC Park

Consol Energy Center, home of the Penguins.

And a knife pic for the heck of it!

Ok Primble, I've got Riley on the search for answers.

Your rules sound fair as long as I win! :D.

Seriously, lots of fun and many many great pics.

You want to see some horses? Here are a few chilling out after work in Bandera, TX

^^^^^ Very neat picture Rachel. The old west has sure changed. Your bats picture was great too. ;)

More clues please? :D

"If you're explaining, you're losing."
