Pro-Tech knives what say you?

Foes anyone here know where I can find a plain edge stonewashed blade regular old black handle doru? Or a tuxedo or any of the wood scaled Brend 3's?

I've been looking at the Newport with Carbon fiber, a Godfather, and the one i'm leaning the most toward is the Tactical Response tr-3X1 with the fish scale. I really like the way the newport looks thought too. Do any of you guys own both of these and prefer one over the other?

Now that autos are legal to carry here in Nevada I've retired my Benchmade 750 SBT Pinnacle that I've carried for the last 15 years and replaced it with a couple of Pro-Techs.
The Rockeye is my daily carry and the Sprint is for wearing with suits or the times I head into the People's Republic of California.

I am also looking for any experience with the newport. I just love the design and sleekness but am worried that it will be a tad small for my tastes. I rarely carry a blade under 3.5". Any comparison pics to get a good idea of just how small it is would be greatly appreciated.

Icer, that Rockeye is nice looking.....have you any of Les George's own manual models to compare?

I love my new Doru. It is very solid and is the sharpest right out of the box of any knife I have ever owned. My favorite auto has always been my Spyderco Citadel, a great knife, but the Doru is running a close second.

I just recently acquired a TR-3 manual off the exchange and love it! Thanks Paul!!
Built like a sexy tank and smooth as Pam Anderson's butt.....in Bay Watch days of course!
Previous owner heated up the clip for a darker look. Called Pro Tech last Thursday, spoke to Mapi....totally awesome chick....requested a new clip and it showed this morning! Absolutely awesome customer service!
The evil woman also sent along their new catalog.....do not look at those pages!!
Awesome knife and a great company to deal with!
Joe

Glad to hear a little bit about their customer service palonej. It doesn't seem to come up to often. I'd take that as a good sign.

I can't say enough about their products and CS!
Sent an e mail last Wed night and got a response Thus morn asking me to give them a call.
Mapi handles CS and she is friendly, funny and extremely helpful.
Getting the clip and screws 2 days later with a note of thanks and that dam catalog?? Really can't ask for much more.
My CC started smoking when I turned the first page!! Big trouble!!

I prefer the Protechs over the other auto brands. TR-4 and Godfathers especially.

Too many complaints about Microtech customer service (also, the proprietary tools and, let's face it, some ugly knives). Neither they nor Benchmades quite stack up to Protech autos, IMO.

I've only owned one Pro-Tech but I love it. So much so that I plan on picking up a couple more towards the first of the year.

Thanks! That's my favorite knife and firearm although my mini Roadhouse and P320 are close seconds.

I've got four Protech knives and I'm very happy with them: a Monaco, a Godfather, a TR4 and a manual TR3 Integrity.

They are very well made and so far have worked flawlessly. The Integrity is the one I use the most.

Amen on the Brend 3. I have hunted for one with no success. I have a 1 and 2. The 1 is too big but what an attention getter. The 2 is nothing more than a keychain knife to me. The 3 would be a perfect edc if you like a longer blade than the average 3 to 3.5 inch blades that are common. I carry a Godfather and like the 4 inch blade but I like the shape of the Brend blade better.

My wedding knife is a TR3 tuxedo. It has a nice mirror finish blade. The only thing I don't like is the ivory micarta is only on the front side of the handle.

Don't need another knife????? COME ON!!!
You won't be sorry Wade!!
I received another Pro Tech last week and I love it!! Got a Black Ash Burl Godfather! WOW!!
I also sent in my TR-3 for a blade swap. Dropped the knife and put a nice chip in the blade. Gonna try a black blade this time. $50 for the blade install along with a tune up.
