problems with TheBladeShop ?

Man, I wish I had seen this thread before I ordered from these thieves. I ordered a Spyderco Delica as a gift for a friend back in September. I've sent many emails and received no responses. I'm going to start making phone calls on Monday.

Well, if it means anything. The Bladeshop told me on the 13th that they shipped my knife and it arrived today in perfect condition. Now I just need a partial refund.

More to come............

Wow, in less than one week................I received a refund! I consider myself lucky after hearing some of these stories. But I will never buy from them again.

This is ridiculous. I've been waiting three weeks for my benchmade 42 (Order#: 73221). It was supposed to be two day shipping. I wish I checked the forums before I ordered. Learned my lesson.

I found this thread right BEFORE placing an order with The Blade Shop because it saved me some money over Knife Center. Since my one experience with Knife Center went well, I decided to spend the extra money and stick with them. Glad I found this. Thanks.

i wish that i would have seen this a long time ago, i have battled with "the blade shop" on three different occasions. the first wasn't too bad, i gave them the benefit of the doubt on the second fiasco (concerning a microtech knife), but the third has been a nightmare. i just wanted a benchmade griptilian. at first it was a specific model, but after a month it came down to asking please for ANY grip model, or even a knife of comparable price (i did insist on benchmade). they could not oblige even though i had made an incredible compromise. i am now waiting the 7 to 10 days for them to process my refund plus the 24 to 48 hours it will take after that for the refund to post in my account.

Hi,

Just after I ordered from them, I found this thread. At first I was really upset but then I read that in the end everybody got their order or their money back. Anyway I was promptly charges and then got an e-mail saying that the knife is out of stock. To be totaly honest, this knife was out of stock everywhere, only thebladeshop didn't let you know it is out of stock on their web page.

Anyway, as soon as I saw the knife returning to stock in other stores I e-mailed the bladeshop and they told me my order was allready shiped, and I did get it two days latter. That was a month after the order was placed and charged.

I am not recommending thebladeshop, Its costumer service is not good (but in my personal experiece no bad also), imho if you need a knife cheap, but really don't care how long it takes, it's still an option. I got my knife for 70% off it's price in any of the shops it was in stock back when I ordered it, and 80% price off any shop I can get it in now... In our days, that kind of discount is very important...

Gal.

I had a problem too. Knife not in stock but they charged my card. Finally got a hold of them and traded up to another knife. I now look for knife sites where it tells if the knife is in stock or not.

As I have said in previous posts, the knives ARE in stock (somewhere), just not at TheBladeShop...;)

I recently placed 2 orders at thebladeshop(before I knew about this forum). I placed an order on 2/9/2009 for a Spyderco Centofante 3, and an order on 2/10/2009 for a Spyderco D2 Para-Military Green Foliage. I just received the Centofante today. I have to say that I am surprised I got it after hearing all the horror stories about this company.

The Para, however, I will not be getting. Apparently it was backordered, but was advertised as In Stock. They did not mail me to notify me that it was backordered, I just recently found out by logging onto their website and checking on the order status. I emailed them a couple of days ago about it and did not get any replies. I was planning on calling them tomorrow, but miraculously I received an email today from Elizabeth. She just NOW gave me a tracking number for the centofante, and told me that Spyderco has discontinued the D2 Para-Military. Funny how the tracking number is useless since the package arrived today. I told her to cancel the order and refund the money, and she sent another email back saying that she canceled the order per my request. I just sent another email asking how long it takes to process a refund, so we'll see what or if she has anything to say about that.

I still want to get a Para-Military so I will be looking around somewhere for that, and I am certainly going to stay away from thebladeshop in the future! I consider myself lucky though, so long as I get my refund.

Well I just thought I would give an update on my current thebladeshop experience. I emailed them yesterday asking about a refund, and I just received a response from Elizabeth telling me that they would refund me in full within 10 business days of the cancellation. So far so good.

While this experience could have been MUCH worse, I consider myself extremely lucky(so long as I do get my refund) at this point. While I got (sort of) quick replies from them and actually did receive the knife that was in stock, they lied about the availability of the paramilitary D2 and let me pay for 2nd day shipping for it. I will definitely take this experience and that of others here that I have read about and never purchase from this company again.

Tblock1, I appreciate your help on this. Can knifeworks.com be trusted?

I found the thread on knifeworks. I just placed an order from their website for the paramilitary D2 thanks to the help of the people in this forum.

I ordered a Ka-Bar knife from these people back on the 24th of January. I paid for the 2 day shipping. I was told in an email the next day that the knife was on back-order and that they expected to have one in 1 to 2 weeks. Almost 4 weeks later I have yet to be able to get anyone on the phone or get anyone to repond to emails where I enquired as to the status of the order and requested to maybe just change it to an in-stock item.

the problem with my order, is I don't understand why I wasn't even sent an email to explain that the paramilitary knife that I ordered was on back-order. I didn't find that out until I logged into my account and checked the order status. I paid for 2 day shipping so I assumed that the knife should have been shipped and almost delivered, so I was shocked to see that it was back-ordered. That's ridiculous.

I had the standard experience: Ordered a knife that didn't give any indication it was out of stock, got an e-mail saying backordered, called to ask about several other knives as a replacement, found none of those were in stock. They told me several times they'd get the knife in in the next couple days. Finally canceled, got an e-mail promising a charge back to the credit card in 10 business days, but that hadn't happened after 12 business days, and I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Still waiting on that.
