maybe you all should just reverse your credit cards and chaulk this up to a learning experience.

Called last Wed. Was told order 22711 OD Buck Strider was in stock and would
be received early week. As of 1.14.07, still "in progress" with no tracking number.
Please cancel order.
Knife Center has product in stock and will deliver within 2 days.
I've ordered many knives over the internet and never received such non-service.

We need a sticky in this forum simply stating the GOOD on-line dealers and the BAD on-line dealers...I think most here would agree that the Blade Shop falls into the latter category.

How about it Mods? Something to warn potential buyers of scrupulous vendors and acknowledge the ones that give excellent customer service and communications?

I'm all for the above mentioned sticky because of the issues I have also had from other companies ordering online. It's one of the reasons I like to stay involved at Blade here; collectively, as potential customers, we all have the power to backup EACH OTHER'S orders and DEMAND satisfaction, or we can put them on 'our wall of shame'

I live near Tennessee and been to Knoxville many times and I have never seen this business before. I was wondering where they was located so I did a simple google search ( using the maps ) and for some reason the blade shop in Knoxville is showing to be in a subdivision in Knoxville. Maybe this is an error by google or maybe this was run out of a home for awhile ( no idea I don't know much about them ) but here is the link I used.

If you click on Satellite and zoom all the way in you will see that there are some nice houses and swimming pools there but no shops. If you search the address given by there website you will see a nice building but google does not list it as the business address. How new is this business anyway?

Link for the address given on there website through google.

I got family that live near Knoxville and they collect knives and never seen this place before ( no ads for it in knoxville I don't think. ).

Do they have a store or is this online orders only?

bad to worse...

seems like they fixed their phone system so that you don't get a busy signal all the time, but they have an automated system that puts you on hold.... forever.

I have yet to reach anyone there.

Update: I finally did get ahold of them. They said knife was on backorder and still on , so I changed order to a knife they have on hand, and they are supposed to be shipping that one immediately. Will let you know when/if I get it.

man customers are comming out of the woodwork looking for help-

dont think these guys will be on my shopping list-too many good dealers

at least they are attempting to resolve some issues and not ignoring the customers

That is what I did only to find out that the knife I changed to was out of stock too, but they told me it was in stock when I changed the order. I finally did receive the Buck Strider last week, but the process started back on November 9th. I will give these guys another chance in several months, but I will take names, ship dates, and hold them to their word or cancel if not received when they say it wil be here. No more changing the order to fit their so called "in stock" items.

Why in this world would you give them more of your business? There are so many GREAT knife vendors available, there is no need to support a company which is not only dysfunctional, but also quite dishonest. That makes no sense!

This was pooh poohed by the Mods for reasons of liability. I understand and accept that fact. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough in my message. I wasn't advocating an official BladeForums.com sanctioning. I was just suggesting that a new permanent thread could be started, so we the readers could post our experiences with on-line dealers. From 1Tracker's post, it appears that the Blade Shop isn't the first to exhibit the problems we've encountered. But that's not up to me and I will agree with and abide by their decisions.

Knight Shadow, their address is 314 Merchants Drive Suite F in Knoxville. It's listed on their website, www.thebladeshop.com. In talking with a business next door, they operate a store front there. It is in a strip mall, so being in or close to a neighborhood is a possibility. If you have anyone that could drop in there, it would be interesting to hear their impressions.

I have an acquaintance near Knoxville who is going to do a driveby recon. I admin several web sites with decent size communities, so I know people from all over.

Because I had good service from them before this incident. Their prices are good too... I have watched many other businesses stumble and rebound to be very good to do business with.

lots of times when a small business gets in a bind, they will get cut off by vendors, and are in a real pickle. doesn't necessarily mean they are deadbeats. My mom & Dad ran a small business for 35 years, and they had the same problem sometimes. Don't know that it ever got this bad though.

If you are running a small business on a shoestring, it's next to impossible to have super low prices. You must make profit to survive exactly this sort of problem. Lots of small businesses today overlook this important detail.

But don't get me wrong. If it is a scam, I'm on my way over there to collect! It's my mom, after all.

I check on this thread about every time I'm on here. As I said before, except for their failure to answer my emails, and for being unable to get through on the phone, they lived up to their end of the bargain.

I'm not going to write them off, I'm just going to watch the thread and be more cautious next time. If I see the blade shop has the best price on a particular knife, the price won;t be the only factor I'll use when deciding whether or not I'll order from them.

Just talked with Will...I returned my knife to them - received by them on the 13th. Credit Card was billed on 12/27...Will said everything was taken care of and the credit should show on my card in a few days. Looks like my problems are corrected.

And I was only on hold for 12 minutes...not too bad, not too bad!
