problems with TheBladeShop ?

I placed an order with The Blade Shop on 8 December and received it two weeks later. Given the volume of orders they were handling right before Christmas, that seems reasonable. My only complaint with them is the same one I have with quite a few other internet knife dealers - when you place your order, your shopping cart doesn't show whether or not the item is in stock.

I appreciate the fact that the Blade Shop is trying to deal with an embarrassing situation in a public forum. Hopefully they will learn from their experience.

For internet knife dealers in general, I'd encourage you to set your software up so that it shows prospective buyers if the knives they want are in stock or, if they are backordered, when they will be back in stock. If you aren't willing to do that, I won't buy from you.
 
Thanks for the email Will. In the email you said that my order (order #22042) shipped yesterday, but in your email and on your site there is no tracking number. If there is a tracking number for my order, could you please email me it?

Look, I completely understand your frustration with the delay in getting your order filled, but there is no need to speak in that manner. Especially with that being the first communication with us. I have no emails from you asking about the order or voicing any concern with it. So to come out of the gate damning us I think is a bit much.
Again, I know you and some others are frustrated with us, but please give us a chance to investigate your individual case before raising your tone to that type of level.

I have checked up on your order and I am showing that it was delivered to your location on January 10.

I'm out of town. Just as i finished typing my frustration, I got a phone call from my residence saying that my order had arrived.

I wanted to come back to the forum to erase what I had said because I felt myself that it was a bit much. I'm just frustrated. I'm used to ordering things from the internet and getting them promptly. When something doesn't show up when it should, and you have 5 pages of people's complaints about the company on a respected knife related forum, cant you somewhat understand why I felt the way i did?

I myself understand completely. Frankly, I STILL would like to write a lot worse things than that. Glad you got your DAMN STONE! :D

As I stated before, I completely understand why ALL of you are frustrated. All that I am asking for, is a chance to check each order/issue on an individual basis before going to such levels.
Again, if there is anything that I can do to assist, I will. I will be periodicaly checking this thread throughout the day, for the next couple of weeks to make sure there isn't anybody being overlooked.

My apologies, again, to all of you that have had issues with your orders this past month.

Will, My order # 22011 came in Wednesday. Since I had already canceled it a week earlier, I returned it as per our phone conversation. I have sent you an email thru your internal site including the USPS tracking number. My order status still shows "in Progress", FYI.

The Cold Steel Talwar that you ordered is very hard item to get and we are doing our best to get some more. The only knives I have in stock at this moment, from the Cold Steel 60 series, are the 60SS-Sisu and the 60BT-Black Talon. As soon as another Talwar comes in we will get it to you.

I recieved my knife today. It seems like everyday someone on this thread is geting their order, so hopefully everyone will get what they ordered very soon.
 
I guess I'm late for the party, but My mom ordered a Benchmade 707 Sequel for me (Christmas) from them on 12/8 or 12/9

Credit Card was billed on 12/9 and payment posted on 12/11. She's tried to reach them numerous times, and I have too. No knife. Phone is always busy.

I think the order number is 19590. She said 500019590. I have to get her to forward me the email.

She told me about it at Christmas, and I told her to wait and see if her card was billed, and if it wasn't I guessed she just didn't place the order right. She just got her statement and found out - sure enough was billed, and never has been shipped... I guess.

So, Will - if you know anything, or can find out anything about it I would appreciate it.
 
I know I hope to not order anything whatsoever from this bunch.

It's unbelievable that someone could raise enough capital to go into business and be this incompetent.....:rolleyes:

Please look into order #21561. A simple response to my e-mail or an update to it's "new order" status would suffice. If it's on back order I'd just like to know rather than being left in the dark.

I spoke with you I believe last Tuesday concerning order 17926 placed on Nov 17th, 2006. You told me that you were walking the knive to shipping to go out that day, however here we are and I still dont have my knife or any indication that it shipped out. Can I have an updated explination? :grumpy:

I wish that this thread would have been up when I first placed my order from them back on 12/1/06. I ordered an MCUSTA Katana 41 C. I called on 12/22/06 and I actually got through and spoke with Will. He said that it was out of stock and on backorder. He said an email was sent to me on 12/6/06 stating that it was on backorder. I never received that email. He did tell me that the MCUSTA Katana 42C was in stock and that he would order that for me instead of the 41C if I wanted to do that. I told him to go ahead and do that. He told me it would take a couple of days for that order to process and that I should receive it before the end of the year. That did not happen. I did get an email stating that my order shipped on 1/11/07.
I appreciate the comments that Eddie and Will have made and they seem sincere. I would not accuse them of trying to rip off customers. However, they do need to tighten things up and get orders shipped out in a more timely manner. Especially when my credit card is charged immediately after I have placed my order. When that happens, I expect that my order will be processed and shipped right away. I will not do business with places that charge my card and don't deliver within a reasonable time frame. I should not be receiving my order six weeks after it was initially made. I placed an order with prairieknives.com on the same day I placed on order with the Bladeshop and I got that order within days.
I hope that things get better for the Bladeshop, but I don't plan on doing business with them anytime soon based on the experience I have had with them.
Edited to add:
I just checked the mail and I did receive the MCUSTA Katana 42C today. I am happy to have received it. I just wish that it wouldn't have taken so long.
I hope that everyone else received their orders.
