problems with TheBladeShop ?

Well I finally received my order from Nov 17, 2006. I just wish they would have been more forthcoming with the info and answering the emails....in fact they have yet to answer any of my four emails.

I guess if I need something real quick next time I'll look elsewhere. I thought ordering over a month before Christmas I would have received it well in time for the holidays as it was planned as a gift for someone.

In fairness to The Blade Shop, I have to let you guys know I received my
OD Buck Strider. Product was ordered 1.7.07, delivered 1.16.07.
Will stick with Knife Center and New Graham in the future. Much quicker

boy oh boy.
i wish i had seen this prior to me placing an order last week.

Why don;t you keep us posted on your progress, Gtimaniac. Maybe you'll have good luck but it would be nice to know when you ordered, when you received, and any problems you had.

Will: Thanks for your reply, after I read it I thought, this is the same BS I have been getting for months. Real hard to get you say, so I logged on to Ebay and typed in Talwar Folder and found two place that have them in stock ( confirmed with an e-bay notes ) so why can't the Blade Shope with all of your volume get product. You had me going there for minute I almost believe you.

Cancel my order immediately #16572

I am tired of all the lies and run around from this so called store. It took me a minute to figure out why you don't advertise and sell thru EBay, they would have ban you from the their site long ago. Good luck guys this is my last post on the this thread.

I hope this thread helps as an early warning not to order from thebladeshop. Hopefully some people will see it before placing an order.

Definetly noted. It is unfortunate, but this seems like a company that needs to "start over", there is nothing but "BAD!" from the BBB site, and just about all the knife enthusiasts here will now steer clear.

If indeed the actual store exists, I'm sure all goes well inside. But online, you need WAY more manpower. Did he say 20,000 orders in one month? Definetly more man power. Maybe take a hit on profit for a while, hire more help, and re-build your reputation with outstanding service and shipping time.

I too was recently looking at the site, and considered placing an order. But, due to this, will have to order somewhere else.

Best of luck to TheBladeShop.

Has anyone had this kind of service? - "In the event an item is on backorder, you will be notified via email." Didn't see it mentioned at all.

Math...it's what's for breakfast:

20,000 orders a month / 30 days a month / 8 hours a day = processing, pulling and shipping 83 orders an hour or 1.4 orders, start to finish every minute.........

SPX,
I'd figure 20 days in a month, they're closed Sat and Sun. That bumps the daily orders out to 125 and 2 knives every minute.... pulling, boxing, addressing, carting. Even if you had a slew of employees, that's a bunch of work even if the phone doesn;t ring.

I said before.... the BladeSHop needs to stop incoming orders for a day (or maybe several), clear up ALL due orders, revamp, rehire, retrain, and get back on track. Or......... lay everybody off and file Chapter 11. What would I do? Build the business back up with a reputation to rival GP, New Graham, Knifecenter, etc etc.

You know the old saying..... when you find yourself in a hole............. stop digging!

Agreed Stretch, but I figured I'd give them the benefit of doubt on 30 full days...but you're right, a hole is a hole...no matter how you slice it (pun intended!)

THAT MEANS IF THEY DID HAVE 20000 ORDERS IN ONE MONTH, THEY WERE COMING IN AT THE RATE OF 125 ORDERS AN HOUR! AND THAT'S IF THEY HAD THE STAFF TO HANDLE THAT AMOUNT, DOUBTFUL. HMM?

20,000 ORDERS IN A MONTH? YEAH RIGHT!:jerkit:

DO THIS MATH:

20,000 SCREWED UP ORDERS A MONTH + POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE + MORE LIES ON A PUBLIC FORUM = 0 ORDERS NEXT MONTH!!!

Just to relate my experiences with theBladeShop, I ordered a CKRT Sting on 1 Jan 2007. For the next week I saw nothing but "New Order" as I logged into their website. Finally on 11 Jan I emailed them asking about the status. I received no reply.

I called the next week every day, multiple times per day only to get a busy signal each time I called. I emailed them again on 19 Jan and got a response from Elizabeth C. on 20 Jan. She told me that the knife was on back order and they should be getting some more in 11 days. She also told me that I should have gotten an email notifying me of the back order status. As expected, no such email ever came. I am also extremely skeptical of the alleged expected shipment of knives.

After my experiences with them and reading this thread, I have just sent them an email requesting the cancellation of my order. We shall see what lies in store for me.

At least they are consistent at theBladeshop. I have had similar delays and frustration with their lack of customer service and delivery.

It took them two and a half months to complete my order. Included was a "lost" in mail shipment that had to be reshipped by them. Customer service is friendly when you can get them on the phone (usually a busy signal) but no proper execution. I had to talk to customer service no less than 7 times before I could finally get the order completed correctly and delivered.

The SINGLE worse on-line purchasing experience that I have ever had.

Hope this post and all the preceding ones serve to help others know what to expect with this company.

Eddie , you lied to me so many times I couldnt count, and still never recieved my spyderfly or boker auto. I just gave up .SO ITS SO GREAT TO SEE YOU FINALLY GET THE TERRIBLE REPUTATION YOU NOW HAVE............

NO ONE SHOULD EVER GIVE YOU ANOTHER DIME. YOUR A CROOK AND A LIAR AND YOU KNOW IT

Take a look at this thread and then take a look at the one about New Graham. It is a no brainer which of these companies people should be getting their knives from.
