I just did the same thing. The knife exceeded my expectations and I have custom scales on order from Phillip Dobson to address the scales issue. I was surprised when I called that they were not sold out.

The coating is NICE
 
I should have mine tomorrow. I preordered both thinking that they would sell out even before they hit the shelf. Guessed wrong.

how much does phillip charge for new grips?
 
I grew impatient and cancelled my order. Went for the S30V instead. Nice little knife, but the edge wasn't particularly sharp when it arrived. Sending it to Benchmade to get it touched up. I look forward to reading the reviews on the M4's.

Didn't realize Philip did scales for the grip... will have to shoot him an email about this...
 
My card got dinged a few days back but still no shipping notice. Account page says its back-ordered? What's up with that? :confused:

Aeromedix uses a very strange system for their website. Mine changed to backordered not too long ago as well. I think I remember some other people saying their knife shipped not too long after it went to backorder. Ehh I guess we'll just have to keep waiting.
 
Mine switched from 'back ordered' to 'shipped' the day before yesterday. Tracking notice says I should receive the knife tomorrow. I'm really curious as to what number I'm gonna get since I didn't request one.

They got back to me. Apparently they are still waiting for some of the higher numbers and a few of the early ones. They said 2-3 weeks out. Ah well..... the waiting continues! :yawn:

They told me within a week on Tuesday, yet your card has been charged, but mine hasn't. Weird. Maybe because I didn't request a specific #?

I recd my mini today. Very nice knife. Blade is centered, its sharp, it actions smoothly. The point is a little more rounded than the normal grip. Its very sleek looking. It was worth the wait, still worth doing pre-orders for something special like this. Maybe Benchmade could have just communicated better on timeline. I appreciate this offering being put together.

Mine changed to Ready for Printing. I guess that's a good sign.
 
Mine shipped the day after it said "ready for printing". Mine should be here either saturday or monday.
 
I just ordered two regular sized ones...I tried calling Aeromedix the other day, got someone, they said they needed to have someone call me back. They never did, so I just placed the order.

I am really looking forward to this.
