DaveH, there's alot of Spyderco nuts on British Blades. Do you mind if I post tehm a link to these 2 threads & try to get some momentum going?

you can sf you want I posted about it over there several months ago, but I'm not really active there.

Thanks

Dave, that is exactly what I was afraid would happen with a "design a special knife just for this project" approach. That is a big reason I suggested modifying an existing design. Unfortunately, my suggestions got stomped, so here we are, back to square one. I'm still in for the flatlands of Kansas if you get it off the ground.

well, ya never know till you try on the design. we should have pix of the tmag soon. So the plan did evolve into modifying an existing design, but that's going slowly too.

Looks like an excellent idea. I love how Spyderco has been so generous with their knives. I am in line for a bunch of there passarounds and have already handled several. Put's them on the top of my list for knives to have.

I am in Orlando so I could do the whole kife with Disney, Space Shuttle and all the other touristy stuff around here. I'm sure I wouldn't have a problem having my brother in Sydney join to to the opera house and bridge and my pops in the Philippines to do the native shots. Count me in!!!

Thanks for your post. At some point soon, maybe this weekend I'll start getting a list of participants organized.

I might have to go out a buy a globe to help me. ;)

Damn, but does that mean i have to wear wooden shoes and take pics holding the knife before a windmill? hahaha

I think that could be arranged :p

Ralph said he took some pics of the T-Mag proto he's been carrying. When I saw him at the Guild show, he said he would post them.

sal

I got word that any prototype is at least 60 days out.

I think this is a cool idea, but finding I just don't have the time that I think this will take. if someone would like to pick this up that and run with it it's fine with me.

Here are a couple of rough shots of the T-Mag from the office.

Hope this helps.

Kristi

We're Back!

We're going to get the ball rolling with an special logo'd "DK".

I'll attach photo's once it's here. I'll be going back through the thread to start on a signup list.

More later. Thanks.

Count me in for a pic at the monument for the easternmost point of the United States on St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. I could also get a pic at Colombus' landing. We have alot of ruins on this island as well. This is a great idea!!

Dave,

This is an awesome idea! With a little research and a few emails, I suspect we would be able to get this knife to Antarctica without "too much" trouble.

Perhaps this site will help you:

http://www.antarcticconnection.com/antarctic/stations/index.shtml

I am in the Heart of Dixie, about halfway between the the NASA Marshall Space Center in Huntsville and the Talladega Superspeedway, so I suspect I could get a decent shot to represent Alabama.

By the way, are you going to try to get a shot in All 50 states? Or should we have a world knife, and a separate USA knife?

Contact me via email or PM in spydie forums (same name) to figure out details if you would like me to volunteer to work on either the Antarctica aspect, or if you want to talk about a seperate USA knife! :)

Cheers!

Originally this was conceived as a world knife. We could consider doing a 50 state knife but I'd like to keep that separate

We may even need to limit participants by country so that it doesn't get tied up forever in some place.

Thanks for the offer to help, I may take you up on it.

I'm in Memphis, so make sure that Elvis gets a chance to put his ringed fingers on whatever it is you decide to pass around!
