Hi!

If you would like to put Germany on the list, I could provide pics of the knife in front of "Das Deutsche Eck" in Koblenz where the rivers Moselle and Rhine meet. One of the most popular places in Germany to take a pic. The "Loreley" would be possible, too :-) The aera I'm living in is on the world heritage list, after all ;)

Thanks for the interest, I have a little more infrastructure to put into place before I can start the official signup. I'll update this thread.

If it gets down this far, I'm pretty sure I could get a picture of it and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Need any from Colorado...errr... nevermind... :D

Are you going to standardize the size of the pictures that are taken? Any decision on what happens to the knife after its journey? Will it be on display in the SFO?

I think I'll ask for pictures to be 300 by 600 pixels.

No plans for what to do after. Let's say we get 25 countries, I'll guess that will take at least 1.5 to 2 years. Plenty of time to decide.

Putme down for Texas. I could do the alamo of some other intersting pics. A good one would be a picture of it next to the replica of the supposed jim bowie knife in the alamo.

Here's another note to discuss.

I was thinking of limiting this to 3 people per country, first come first served once the signup thread starts. The reason is to keep it from getting stuck in one country forever.

Having said that we're also considering a 50 state knife, specifically for the US.

COmments?

...and US territories, outlying islands, etc. for you folks in Puerto Rico, et al.

Put me in as wel.

The Netherlands. Windmils, wooden shoes and marijuana..ehhh ;) But i'm not dressing up as H.Brinker with my finger stuck in a dike

If you end up doing a 50 state knife, you've got a lot of people in NC you can send it to :)

Maybe you could even send it to one of us, then all the rest of us could meet somewhere and handle it a little bit... maybe even get a picture of us all together... I can think of at least 1 BFer in my city.

EDIT: Where are those pictures?! I wanna see, I wanna see!

I'm not the greatest photographer, but here you go. Front side is a globe "Spyderco Around The World Passaround"

The backside which I was not able to photograph is the email address

satwp @ mindspring . com

The intent is to use that email as an contact point where people can make inquiries and send pictures.

That's a pretty nice little knife... reminds me of the Caly 3.

I'm guessing the usual VG-10/S30V and G10?

Interesting Spyderhole, also.

It's a DK, "Denmark Knife", G10, s30v and it's a slip joint, no lock on this one, but there is a stiff detent spring action, blade is 2.5 inch.

Denmark knife huh? How about a North Carolina knife? You could do anything with it so long as it wasn't concealed... it could feature Bar B Que, NASCAR, and The Wright Brothers :)

Nice knife, glad you are making this one a reality!

Is the Spyderhole normal? Just looks different in the picture...

The Spyderhole in the DKPK is purposefully not completely drilled out, to meet their law about not allowing 1-handed openers. It is essentially a UKPK with a sub 3" blade and the aforementioned hole.

I don't understand why they have such strict laws about knives... from what I hear from a Danish friend, they don't give a damn about sex or nudity, and it's everywhere.

Crazy Danes, why can't they be more American?

Since they are all high on pot and pheromones, it is probably safer to have strict knife laws...

You can count me in for Mississippi and I can probably do Louisiana too if need be. I'm only 1 1/2 hour from New Orleans. I was over there this weekend.
