S30V Folding Kalinga Pro

Badhammer .......... THANKS!!

I went to their site and it does show as available. I did email them to confirm. If they have one I will buy it. I will also call them tomorrow if I don't get an email reply.

Question ....

1) The say it is $109 on the site so how did you get it for $90 delivered?? Or was that the "Cyber Monday" sale you mentioned? That my friend, was a good deal!

Flatlander1963 ..... I think I just became a vegetarian!!

I've just done some surfing and still see ones delivered for $120. though there are others for about $150 plus shipping. It's about what I would expect since they were discontinued about a year ago. Glad, too that I got my few when I did a year ago.

Thanks Edge!!

Yes Moose Blood...here we go, my old Kalinga at work on a Russian moose. Pretty cool I think. Garryale/Igor is a big fan of S30V and serious hunter. I was excited to hear how the Kalinga performed on truly big game. Very well it would seem but it looks pretty clean. The ErgoHunter may have done all the work.

Better?

Ah, the good old days - anticipating the S30V K-P's. Here are my new ones back then - and a Christmas tin 110:

I checked evil-bay - they, the #408 & 419, are still out there - $110-$120 - some include s/h. To heck with safe queens - they are delightfully functional knives!

Merry Christmas to all!

On their "Cyber Monday " sale they had 20% off and free shipping. IIRC I paid around $87 total.

Most of the sites you find with 419s listed will specify "back order" or "out of stock."

There may be some out there, but it takes a little looking to find one it would seem.

E-Bay looks cleaned out except for the $150 one.

Oops.....I see one was added now at $119 free shipping.

I suppose supplies are dwindling, but there are still a bunch that will gradually come available as prices go up.

I just sent you an e-mail with a link to a dealer that has them in stock for $102.50 + $6.94 Priority Mail shipping, in case you are still looking.

Thanks Edge!!

Kalinga looks like clean knife, because I 'm very accurate with folder in skinning. I don't like to clean hard the folder after work.
Meat, fat and blood get to the folder mechanism, then it remains in a sheath, I don't love it.;):)
Therefore in the course of work with a folder I regularly wipe its with a rag.
I can wash Ergo Hunter with water and soap or I can clean it in the snow , doesn't matter Ergo Hunter is very hygienic knife.:)
I used to use the "One hand technic" when the folding knife only is in clean right hand, the left hand is only for work with the handling meat.;):)

Flatlander .... I am now in the "Manly Man's Club".

After 3 weeks of intensive searching I finally received a Kalinga Pro Folder today in the mail. This model was EXTREMELY hard to find NOS. The only place I found it was Smokey Mountain Knife Works (thanks Badhammer) and I think I bought the last one??? They are now out of stock. Exceptionally nice folder.

I only see one on eBay (I think the seller has 2). $145 + shipping = ouch! The seller wouldn't budge on the price.

Thanks to all on the forum for the advice on this thread.

Great catch beacher. Congratulations on your success.

That Kalinga Pro 408 fixed blade sure goes nicely, one complements the other, with the 419 folder in the photos. Hmmmm... uh huh, yes they look terrific as a pair.

You probably got the last one available at a decent price.

Well done!

I doubt that Buck will ever make any more of these, even on limited runs.

Go ahead, Buck......make a liar out of me.

:D

I was double lucky on the price .... 20% off after Xmas sale!

They did have 2, now they have none. I "think" mine was the last one? Nobody I talked to (who was out) could get any more.

I just got a new Buck 419 Folding Kalinga for only $76.42 delivered. Went back for another and out of stock. Great deals (30% off till tomorrow) on in-stock models as well. Won't say where due to deal spotting. Hint, you would associate this site with tools.

Yah ... good time to get one before they totally disappear. I really like this knife. I think the 408 would be a good compliment.

The supply of in-stock Kalinga 419's seems to have evaporated overnight. Sure gald I was able to snag one at a bargain price.

Just snagged two more new 419's off the Bay. Almost impossible to find one from a retailer now.
