Im sure it’s to late but for what it’s worth my apologies for not bringing it up to you first and ask. I was immediately triggered and raged by the package contents. If my assumption was wrong then i am truly sorry and ask only that you file the insurance claim. As to the condition of the knife argument, no deceit was ever meant. In my opinion the knife was in like new condition especially considering it was 300 dollar knife for the price. But was a diss agreement on condition and is why I agreed to refund.

What would he even claim on the insurance? Tracking shows delivered. Theft by an employee? USPS will want to see the packaging which you have, as it was delivered without incident. USPS won't pay if he think you actually have the item.

Him filing an insurance claim is bogus.

If you sharpen a knife, it’s used. Remember that. There are people that will sell a knife beat to hell as “like new”. The words “like new” are nothing but trouble. The knife is new, or it’s used.

this whole I have been here longer than you BS means nothing. So does ITrader feedback. I have been here since 2002, i read more than I post and I bought and sold knives long before there was ITrader, “vouches” or any other way to tell the caliber of a forumite except by their interactions in the discussion forums.

If I had to guess, the buyer still has the knife. The seller refunded the money before the buyer even shipped. He gains nothing from calling out the buyer as a scammer if he got his knife back. That is nonsense. Did the seller misrepresent the knife? I believe so, and i would have wanted at least a partial refund if the knife wasn’t like new. Did he do it intentionally? Again, I doubt it- he refunded the buyers money before he got his knife back.

The buyer has spent more time deflecting than actually helping locate the knife as he has been made whole already.

In my experience and opinion the buyer has a free knife and sent back a lighter or empty box. The seller gains nothing from refunding the money, getting the knife back, and then coming here to open a can of worms.

If you have the knife, return it, although I am afraid the damage to your reputation is already done.

I agree that USPS will not pay on this. All that can be gained(presuming the seller believes a knife was sent back), is to get on record of a theft.USPS is not going to take anyone's word of a theft after delivery.
Technically it was the buyers responsibility to get the knife back, but do to lack of trust, I am guessing that will not work out well.
And normally the refund is not made until the return, but that is up to the seller

It will be interesting to see if a moderator helps out on this one. Many of us agree that the buyer is responsible for returning the knife, or returning the money. The seller was way too trusting to give a refund so fast without first receiving the knife. Trusting others can be good, but one needs to control the money first.

What would you like us to do without access to all of the evidence? We are not a court of law, nor are we a law enforcement agency. We are limited to removing undesirable members from our community. Will it come to that? That, yet, remains to be seen...

Trust me when I say I'd be only too happy to have all the facts and mete out appropriate justice. But I see no realistic methodology for us to be able to determine if Party A is lying, Party B is lying, or neither is lying because an as yet unidentified ne'er-do-well third party entered the equation.

Now, if I could put everyone in the interrogation room, I'm pretty damn sure I'd get to the bottom of this...but Spark hasn't been able to restore my former authority in that arena.

Where there's smoke there's fire.

Couldn't resist the lighter joke, apologies.

Hell at this point I’ll even send the skanky lighter back if he wants it! 😂 I don’t need it, I’m not a trailer park rat turd. Enjoy the knife and cash bro hope it made your year. His dam avatar for God sakes is smoking lol😂

You won’t get anywhere here trying to form alliances against him. You both jacked this one up. I think a lot of people saw this thread and put you both on ignore. The more you both bicker, the more people are going to put you on ignore. Just my read.
