SCAMMED out of Microtech on trade by lazy otter - Nick Reynolds, Richmond VA

I think we can all agree that the actions of Lazy Otter are reprehensible. This includes his lack of defense, other that to claim that he never said he was a vet. Most people would be up in arms about being called a liar and try to present evidence to the contrary. Nothing more can be said. What i am interested in is hearing what good news SeattleDude has. It would be nice for some good karma to come his way.

The box of junk knives is just like the guy that scammed me in a trade

Some kind of pathology in that? I mean why not just send rocks, or an old shoe or something. Sending the knives seems like a kind of taunt to me, "I sent you junk and there is nothing you can do about it". There is no way that even if the package was intercepted in transit, or the label switched, that the box you did get would have cheap knives in it instead of the knife you were supposed to get.

I suspect that's a dodge to let them pretend it's all a mistake; "Oh sorry sent you the wrong box".

Like one someone breaks into a house they take their shoes off so if they're caught they claim they're thought it was their friends place.

Not to draw fire here, but as an onlooker I'm a littler curious about what proof we have other than Lazy otters bad reviews in the past and a picture of the box with a different knife. I'm not picking a side as I have no vested interest in this whatsoever.....but I am extremely curious as to what evidence we have on BOTH sides of these stories.

Not trying to be lazy and not read the whole thread but after reading so many GBU posts where people go back and forth and as more get drawn in it just becomes a he said/she said contest and a battle of who can jump in and call someone a terrible person because of _____.

As I said I don't care who ends up being in the right and who ends up being in the wrong as long as the truth is uncovered. Just hoping someone (maybe a mod who knows or has seen proof) could clear this up?

You raise a fair question. I know that if most reasonable people were faced with the accusations here, they would quickly debunk them. Fact is, that has not happened. I think the lack of response by lazy otter says a lot. I also think that not responding to the questions is not a valid defense. The fact is that lazy otter was aware of this thread from the very beginning and has stayed noticeably absent. If he is unwilling to provide a defense and present evidence to the contrary, it should be fair to draw an opinion as to what took place.

So, with that said, I have a few questions for you lazy otter. If you are truly in the right, I expect a response.

- Was the Hinderer that you were trading SeattleDude the same one that was donated to you, a month prior, to send to a deployed military friend in Afghanistan?

- You stated that you have never owned a Hinderer before and that there was absolutely no way that you could afford a Hinderer. Quote "$10 may as well be $100 to me". How were you able to obtain a Hinderer to trade in the period of a month?

- If you did obtain your own Hinderer, why did you not send it to the guy who donated to your buddy in Afghanistan? Either way, it seems that you profited from his donation.

- Please provide Post Office evidence of your shipment to Afghanistan in the end of September 2015.

- You say that the box that SeattleDude received is not the one that you sent. Can you please provide evidence that you are telling the truth? The Post Office will have record of what box was sent (dimensions, weight, flat rate box, etc...)

- Did you change your story as to why you sent the box later than the date you agreed to?

- Did you offer to trade or sell the Hinderer to banana-clip after you had made the deal with SeattleDude?

- Why did you feel it appropriate to offer the Microtech that was sent to you by SeattleDude to another member by Visitor Message while this was going on?

- Are there other trade deals that you have had that you did not send your half of the trade as claimed by Maggot Brain in the closed GBU thread?

- Why did you not use your opportunity here to clear your name before the thread exploded?

If you are so innocent here and your past is irrelevant, please address these questions. Feel free to use indisputable evidence such as emails, P.O. records, etc. The questions are valid and you have yet another opportunity to clear your name as any innocent person would. The floor is yours lazy otter.

I don't want to continue to drag out this thread with more opinions .... however, would like someone more well-versed in the postal system to offer an opinion here. The question is how on Earth did LO even get this package through the USPS with the Click and Ship label shown here:

This is obviously a user supplied brown box ... yet look at the postage paid via click and ship: $5.05 flat rate. Doesn't the online rate of $5.05 apply only to flat rate envelopes? A small flat rate (PO) box would be $5.25 online. Did the post office also become part of a scam by making a mistake and let it go through for less money?

USPS:

"Pricing

Except for Priority Mail Flat Rate® supplies, Priority Mail® prices are based on weight and zone. And with Prepaid Forever® Priority Mail Flat Rate you get the same Flat Rate pricing with the added convenience of Forever postage."

"Priority Mail®

From $5.75 at the Post Office

From $5.05 for Commercial Base

From $4.58 for Commercial Plus

Looks like that is maybe a PayPal generated label. You get a small discount (I think there is signature required or tracking included at no charge?) when you buy the label through PayPal.

Or what Thomas posted:)

Nick Reynolds, it's on page one.

From looking at the address label on page 1 and on this page, Google Nick 203 Hull Street Richmond VA and see what you get.

Lots of people have multiple e-mail addresses/names for various reasons.

Here it is in more chronological order....

After we agree to ship on the SAME day I drop off my Microtech at post office on 28th.

I ask him for the lable or tracking info. Excuse is printer is out of ink. Second excuse is original label was damaged by rain and he needed new one.

On 29th he sends me picture of the label attached to white USPS Box. I advise him that he printed label for USPS Flat Rate Envelope. It doesnt get shipped out on 29th and he promise to ship on 30th Friday for SURE in the afternoon, because he needs to take some meds and wait for his ride.

I do not hear from him on Friday. Nothing is shipped.

I check tracking number on Saturday morning to learn that My package was delivered early and his package is picked up at the same time (within one minute on time stamp).

Mine - 9407803699300020048813

His - 9405803699300100561456

I contact him to confirm it was shipped and he tells him As far as he knows his Girlfriend shipped it out on Saturday and that he is currently not home.

Fast forward to Tuesday. I get the package in different box. Open it and you know the rest of the story.

I contact him asking if this is a joke and that I will report him and his girlfriend to authorities. He starting to tell me that I switched the box. Changing the story telling me that HE personally shipped the box and leave his girlfriend out of his.

Same label on both boxes as the tracking number is the same. So someone did at some time switch the label from one box to another or reprint the same one.

Not getting on lazy otter's side here, but...A pre printed label is easily moved. I've taped them down in the past and realized they were on the wrong box and moved them to another with no obvious signs of doing so. A sharp blade under the edge of the paper will easily do that. The label just ends up with two layers of tape on it.

ETA: the 10/29 print date on both boxes is the same too so, again, I think it's the same label on two boxes.

I don't get how the brown box could have shipped with a flat rate label.

I dont get that either. I informed him that he printed wrong label.

And I just realized that it was attached to Medium Flat Rate box by looking at the picture on bottom left. There is no way it would have went on that box.

On brown box if you look at the picture. It looks like some sharpie was used to cover up word Env on top left corner where it indicates that the label is for Flate Rate Env.

It's the label that ships/sends the package - not the color of the package. As long as you pay the Priority Mail rate and print off the label and put it on the package, the package could be anything within size limitations, etc..

I have a roll of USPS tape with Priority Mail and the USPS Logo on the tape and just put a piece of that on a package I send out and pay whatever the rate is.

With USPS when you create a label at home, you can print it a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time, or, you can print it to a PDF file, then print that multiple times as well.
