School me on strider sng

he WAS a Ranger

Sure he was in a Ranger Battalion for two months, then went AWOL. Seems like he didn't really want to be a Ranger. Then he claimed he was a "black ops operator" despite barely even finishing inproccessing and finding the chow hall... He spent his entire life proving that he never really lived the Ranger ethos.

Defending him seems like a real good hill to die on. Pick your battles wisely, you lost this one before it even began.

Well just noticed the tags on this thread, a nice little Easter egg.

There are a plethora of great knife purchases to make, no need to support Strider in any way.
Yeah, nice call on that. It looks like there’s a defender of Strider who isn’t a defender of honesty. Does someone really need to defend Mick to defend themselves? Blade Forums should be a point of reference, not a Mea Culpa.

Let’s be better than this.

I’m not defending him, I’m defending the title. Know the difference.

Sooo, by this logic, if I try to become a pilot and wash out before I get out of ground school and even get near a cockpit, does that still make me w pilot???

If I want to be a doctor, but wash/flunk out of med school, am I qualified to do an appendectomy????
o_O

Apparently some people would let you fly them or do major surgery upon their body.....

I appreciate that you included the parenthetical, but for clarity's sake we should probably explain that in a tiny bit more detail. He was assigned to the 75th for two months and a handful of days, and he had three weeks of RIP, not actual ranger school. A grand total two months assigned to the 75th before he was transferred and drummed out of the Army shortly afterwards as a private E-1. No deployments of note. No black ops. No ninja commando training. No spec ops stuff he can't talk about.

The defense you're responding to (along with the tags he added to this thread) is unsurprising to several of us, to say the least.

I think you need to call them RIP/RASP are the qualification school to attend ranger school..SFAS is the school you need to pass to attend SFQC i.e they’re both qualification courses.

In the end you’re wrong, posted chit that was wrong and it’s time to move out.

Definitely not the first time that particular member has had to be set straight by actual Veterans. LOL

So I have 2 of the 3 "holy trinity" or "big 3". I have CRK and HINDERER, do I need the strider to fill out the collection? I know nothing except a bit about micks checkered past. I am curious if strider are worth the $600+ price tag? Thanx for any info on these knives...
Don't buy Strider, don't buy Bark River and widening the scope, don't buy from cloning, copying, stealing brands like, hey, from the top of my head : Ganzo, Eafengrow, QTRMSTR,... and more. Now, if you fancy another high end knife... why not buy another CRK ?

Trying to say someone isn’t a Ranger that WAS a Ranger is like saying someone didn’t graduate from high school or college just because you don’t like them. It doesn’t work that way. You can call him a “former” Ranger or whatever, but IF he finished RIP and was assigned to one of the battalions, he WAS a Ranger and no amount of butthurt anti Burger acolytes can take that from him.
Like I said, I’m no fan of his, but we aren’t playing this game where you can selectively decide who earned the title and who didn’t, ESPECIALLY anyone that wasn’t in regiment, the army, or even the military in general. Be mad all you like. I’m not “lecturing” you. If he finished RIP and was in the unit, he was a Ranger, and that’s a FACT. I don’t care if he killed puppies and drove around flipping off old ladies, you don’t get to rewrite history because someone chaps your ass.
BS!!!
Just because a soldier finishes RIP and then gets assigned to a Ranger Bat, but fails Ranger School...they will not let him stay in that Ranger Bat for long. He will be reassigned to a non-Ranger unit because he is NOT a Ranger, and never was.
The GOARMY link you posted clearly states you don't have to pass Ranger School to join a Ranger regiment...but merely being in a Ranger regiment does not make one a Ranger.
Yes, there are non-Rangers serving in Ranger regiments.

There are females assigned to Army Special Forces units...they even wear the green beret...but unless they have passed the Q Course, they are NOT Special Forces.

I was in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) for two years.
And I was in the largest Air Assault in our nation's history during the Gulf War.
But I never attended the Army Air Assault School and I don't have the Bullwinkle Badge, which means....I am NOT Air Assault.

And Burger was never a Ranger.

As for the original poster's question...
All I can say is that whenever I see a man with a strider knife, I think less of that man.

On the internet you can be the shit, you can be the man, you can be the shizzle and you can be the fuzzz...But if you are a sorry stoopid "no comprendo" asshole.. Just please, shut the fuck up and close that fucking trap that needs to constantly belch out shit...

They might not “stay for long” if they don’t graduate RS, but they will if they’re worth a damn and in a Ranger battalion. Ranger regiment is tougher than Ranger school.
Also: You ARE a Ranger if you’re in a Ranger BN and don the tan beret, Ranger school or not. Don’t talk about that which you don’t understand.

Females assigned to special forces do NOT wear a green beret, that is only permitted by graduates of the SFQC.
You are confusing those in a “support” MOS with SF MOS. Non SF Soldiers in an SF unit wear the maroon airborne beret.
