Sharpest new knife you ever purchased?

Everyone here who has said something OTHER than Spyderco.....have you owned a Spyderco?

I have owned Benchmade, Kershaw, Spyderco, Mora, Strider, Buck.....MCusta, and more.......and the ones that I am most respectful of are the Spydies. They will lop off an arm on accident if you are not careful.

My spyderco endura. I'm surprised by a lot of these answers. My Kershaws have all come stupid sharp too

Nice, is that Stainless Damascus or HCS, either way it's nice...

According to the product description, the blades are:
VG-1 clad 16 layer Damascus steel, alternating layers of high- and low-carbon steel to produce a handsome, yet subtle pattern on the blade

In general, the Kershaws/ZT's and Spyderco knives I've gotten have had consistently great factory edges, but this one was the only one I've gotten with a factory edge that could whittle hair.

For me it was a couple of Spyderco's:
Gayle Bradley and Manix 2 CTS - XHP
Incredibly sharp straight out of the box.

BG42 Military. Super Blue Endura. Nilakka - hair whittling sharp. s90 Para. M4 Manix2. Its always interesting just how sharp a new Spyderco is going to be, coming out of the box.

out of my bokers, emerson, kershaws, crkts, cold steels, bucks, ZT, queen cutlery and ka-bar's, my sharpest knife was the boker ak74 auto.

Kershaw DoubleCross had the sharpest factory edge I've gotten on any knife.

I've got one of those, too. Perfect combination of traditional and modern. Love mine. :)

Yeah - a dozen or so. And like I said, my BM 7505-132 was the sharpest that I've had right out of the box.

My sharpest is a toss-up between my GSO-4.1 and my Benchmade 581 Barrage, both in M390. Both were hair-topping sharp when I got them.

My 1999 small Sebenza was the sharpest I've ever had. My Superblue Spyderco Caly 3.5 was next. Both were insanely sharp. My last two Sebenza's were actually dull in comparison with my newer Spyderos though.

I have two dozen spydercos and some have been pretty sharp. Most of my customs come waaay sharper than any spydie and big Chris's work is especially sharp. His hunter/edc slicer grind in CPM d2 is the sharpest reguilar knife I have ever received. The sharpest kitchen knife is a small petty that bluntcut sent me to test. Just insane!!! Russ

Without a doubt, it was a Kershaw Skyline for me. I wiped it on my pants and sliced a hole.

Benchmade 7505-131.

M390.

VERY Sharp.

People complain that these thick blades are not good for slicing.

This blade push cuts (no need for back and forth slicing) my tequila limes without effort.

Slices my tomatoes with aplumb.

Great knife and 4" of M390 super steel.

What's not to like??

Just saw a kershaw double cross on the bay, reasonably priced for well under $100, if I can get one, it'll seriously compete for pocket space with my Spyderco Mini Dyad.

For me my two sharpest out of the box are both relatively lower cost knives. I would say the sharpest I have gotten is my full sized benchmade grip, and my kershaw injection. The edge was a bit more refined actually on the kershaw but not really sharper. My delica was very good but not quite as sharp as the other two. The delica is however, the sharpest knife I currently own or have ever owned after a date with my new edge pro this afternoon. That VG10 takes an unreal edge. It didn't take too much effort and the knife will push cut newsprint with no force, just the weight of the knife being held by two fingers.
