Sharpest new knife you ever purchased?

Mcusta Tactility.

No noticeable difference in sharpness between most of Kershaws, Spydercos, and Cold Steels(excluding their machetes and tomahawks).

Svord Deluxe range, in my case General Purpose 6". Don't need a straight razor with this beard shaver.

I agree. Spydercos are generally the sharpest.
Sharpest out of box production for me has not been Spyderco.

Doesn't matter anyway as I have to dress up the edge before using any production knife.

Everyone here who has said something OTHER than Spyderco.....have you owned a Spyderco?

I have owned Benchmade, Kershaw, Spyderco, Mora, Strider, Buck.....MCusta, and more.......and the ones that I am most respectful of are the Spydies. They will lop off an arm on accident if you are not careful.

I've had the most consistent sharp factory edges with Spyderco. The only Spyderco I ever got that was kinda dull was the Southard.Still that's great odds 1/100.
That Fallkniven U2 was the only knife I ever got(except a custom by Richard J)that made me think "Wow,I better be careful with this thing".You can tell someone really spent some time on that edge.It was perfectly even & polished to a mirror finish.

Without a doubt it was my Spyderco Viele, and that tip was nasty too!

Also a great knife that was sharp, shaving sharp outta the box, a great design too, I used to prove the ad in blade magazine that showed the knife cutting food on plate and the knife sliced through the food and the plate as an indication.

Sorry my bad that was the Centofonane I was thinking about, never mind, although that's also a great knife.

IIRC they were both Golden CO made, if have to check to be sure.

2000's vintage Marble Arms. Just wave that convex edge over a tomato, and the tomato sliced itself.

benchmade 550 bkhgod i just got pretty recently and i cut both of my thumbs when i was opening and closing it it was hair razing sharp it isnt anymore but its still really sharp

1) Orange PM2 was hair whittling sharp out of the box. It was unreal.
2) Buck CPM154 110
3) M390 Military
4) Gayle Bradley
5) Emerson CQC15

I'm not sure what the sharpest I've ever had out of the box but a few that impressed me were the AG Russell 3in Ti Lockback and Spyderco Delica Super Blue. In general I've found that knives made in Japan always seem to come very sharp.

Hogue EXO1 (4 of em)
Fallkniven F1 and H1
Benchmade sheepsfoot mini grip
