Bad Shepardcc scam

He did in fact send me a PM stating the same that he had here (basically that the scale has been done over a week and he tried emailing me a couple times with no response). Well The only way he would even have my email would be to look through his paypal receipts on January 25. We only e communicated through PM on here (which I got very timely replies while ordering).

The point is I am not going to return his PM... I am going to leave this big red warning flag up about him.

As I said I'm working hard to be better. Working on better and more frequent communication as well as better estimates on delivery dates.
 
I had this guy on ignore several years ago due to his past lying and sociopath problems. He has not changed and probably never will. If not banned, he should at least be listed in the hall of shame. I mean why expose uneducated members here to a known problem that has been documented for so long?
 
For me, the most telling part of this whole thread is:

I can't believe anyone is even DM'ing this guy about new projects...are you masochists?

It shows JUST HOW BADLY BladeForums needs SOLID, REPUTABLE, and TALENTED custom handle craftsmen.

Sketchen is MIA... so who else remains?

It's a famine right now.

There's a vacuum here that is waiting to be filled...great opportunity for a young person with the skills to pay the bills.

Somebody step up....PLEASE!

First of all, a lot of guys just won't give negative feedback in any case because they don't want to get involved and expose themselves that they've been treated unfairly. Fear of retaliatory negative feedback--- Maybe a pride thing-- Maybe just following granny's advice..."If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all."

Second, when you get outside the BF brotherhood, like on eBay where they don't give a f -- he actually has negative feedback listed there.

Third, the MO has been he's gonna take advantage, keep taking advantage, then take a bit more until he pushes you to the point to where you're gonna out him publicly here and then <and only then> he's gonna bribe you with more goods as hush money to smooth things over or retract your previous criticism. Hell, that's played out for us in living color just two weeks back RIGHT HERE IN THIS SUBFORUM. Now consider how many guys got to the point of actually calling a spade a spade but got reeled back in from the edge by his bribery and their own greed ...

Confidence men and phishers run this kind of scam all the time on the proud, elderly, and disadvantaged. And, ONLY RARELY, does anyone ever even call them out. It's a money maker, fo sho.

So it is not surprising to me, one bit that he has scant negative feedback anywhere. It's more surprising to me that someone actually has the cajones to step up and broach the subject.

P2.1: eBay has actually done away with sellers' ability to leave any negative or neutral feedback for buyers. eBay buyers have the ability to neg a seller with impunity / fear of retribution.

You'd think so but maybe the reason the field is scarce is that it doesn't pay the bills. I don't know. It's too bad that there isn't a robust industry of custom scale makers out there. Professional knife sharpening services seem to be fairly stable.
 
Spoke to Steve K recently. He had some serious shit hit him over the head, but will be back in a month or so.
He reached out to every person he was doing work for before going dark.
He has made 5 sets of scales for me and he did what he said he'd do every time.
Fantastic work also.

Thanks for the update Joe...Steve's one of the good ones, I was hoping he was okay but had just seemed to drop off the map leaving us with, well...:poop: for custom handle craftsmen, for the most part.

I suspect the problem is to charge a profitable amount limits the customer base however I would say that this is the place you would find that customer base.
